nah, that changed when the advertising market collapsed. suddenly they need money somehow, and providing unlimited free access and space wasn't the way to do it.
so it's not free anymore. aren't they all offering pay services that work now?

this all fits with piro's last rant over at Megatokyo about how net users don't suddenly agree to pay for a formerly free service.


anyways, what you all need to do is know someone who started their own server.

not only do I get virtually unlimited file space and no hassles external linking, I get my own subdomain. check it out, plastic.spaceninja.com

ah, it's good to have connections. ;)

no real solution to the web access problem, except maybe find a cheap pay service and bite the bullet.

sucks, I know, but unless/until the web-economy picks up heavily, it's not going to become free again anytime soon...
