2 Thessalonians 1:8 makes it clear that Jesus will take vengeance "on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ." How can anyone doubt the necessity of obedience, or that obedience can and does affect one's eternal destiny?
