Subject: Why RTM's Toy Fair Coverage is so slow....

Hi Guys,

Ray makes a very fair statement in saying that our coverage has been slow and he's right. From your point of view you just want to see it, and that's cool and understandable, but there are reasons that our coverage is slow.
Figures.com has 4 people here and at least one person who does their pictures, so they send out their gang to take pictures and just upload them all and someone else gets them ready for the web. So they have at least 5 people doing their coverage.
I don't know if AFT has someone else working on the pictures, or what their and Action-Figure's schedules are, so I don't know how much free time they have. They do have three people here for AFT and 2 for a-f. A-f grabs their pics from video with some automation.
For Bobbi and I, we take the pictures and manually make thumbs and get the picture ready and then have to upload them. There are two of us, and while Jason is working on a few pictures we don't think it's fair to just tell someone to do all the lousy grunt work while we get to see everything and get free toys. So the two of us have to do it all, and we're busy.
The latest appointment we've had in the morning is 9AM (that was Sunday), every other day it is either 8 or 8:30, and today was our earliest finish in that we were done by around 4PM. Tomorrow is 8:30 until probably 4 or 5. Thursday is the only light day, early again but we're done by some time shortly after lunch.
We are seeing more companies than the other sites, so we are busy (a few are not strictly action-figure type companies).
Not an excuse, but an explanation. We will be putting up ToyCom tonight, along with Palisades and Anjon. More to follow when we get to it.
RTM isn't about being first, but being best so we aren't going to not sleep at all just to update the site just to say we are first. When the dust clears we think you'll like our coverage. The other sites will probably never even finish putting everything up once the 'hot' stuff is over (excpet AFT which will finish).

-Rob
