In reply to: Emerje 's message, "Well, yeah, that's what I want..." on 17:23:33 01/01/02 Tue

And just in case it does get deleted, here it is:

You people have got to be kidding! You make it sound as if it was RTM's fault that Jeff posted pics that belonged to them! RTM put a watermark on that image, and it was cut fromt the top of the watermark down and then put up here.

So why is this such a big deal? Why bring this out in the open? Well, maybe if this was the first time this has happened, it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but unfortunatly it's not. Jeff S. has been a repeat offender of taking images and content (even without editing them) from other sites, mostly from RTM. Don't believe me, then why does he visit RTM so much? He reads their news, posts on their forum, talks to their members, and then pics and chooses what he wants to take from them. You don't have to take my word for it, go and ask the folks who run A-F.com, AFT.com, and even RTM, it's no secret, Jeff S. is a big joke to them all.

You want to talk about being unprofessional, talk to Jeff S. If he wants to get news he can follow up on it himself rather than taking it second had from the other sites.

Now, I expect this to be deleted, but if your going to do so the least you can do is debate it first. It's kinda funny, the RTM members are being really mature about this, but some of the folks here, not so mature.

OK, last thing, "why can't rtm die already?" Well, let me list them:

1) Huge fan base: Sure number of members is a nice thing to flaunt around, but it all comes down to the number of posts made in a day, and Figures.com doesn't even come close.

2) Insiders: RTM actually has people from the industry as regular members, people like Mike Horn and Resident Lilly from Palisades, Ralphus from Toxic Mom, Tony from Plan B, Cornboy from 4 Horsemen, and the list goes on.

3) Other toy site staff visit too: People like Adrian Fulkner, Jason Gayer, Jeff Saylor until recently, Julius Marx, and Bobbi herself was the Action Figure guide at About.com way before she bought RTM, there's many others too.

4) Independence: Even without a big company running things from behind the scense the site was able to stay open with a very steady fan base, if Figures.com was dead tomorrow, how long do you think your beloved forum would keep running?

Well, I guess that's enough of a lesson in RTM mechanics. You can either learn from it or flame the hell out of me, I could care less, I've said my peice.

See how long that goes unanswered.
