Subject: Long, pissed off rant (pore Ki)

I'm soooo mad right now, I don't remember ever being this pissed off.

You see, the management for the appartment I live in sent out a notice a while back saying that after snow storms we have to move our vehicles or else they will be towed. Well, apperently it snowed last night but hardly an inch, not nearly enough to plow. So about 2 in the afternoon today (waaaaaaay after the snow has stopped and by this time most of the new snow has melted) I get out of the shower and Zanza yells franticly to me from the front door "hey, you better come down quick, they're towing your car!" Instantly I'm thinking "What the Fuck!?" and I come running down the stairs (dressed thankfully) and sure enough there's a guy trying to get my car onto the back of his flatbed truck. I'm all pissed off and I yell at the guy "what's going on!?" and he says to me, pointing at the office "they told me to take your car" I'm shocked, I think there must be a mistake, maybe they didn't know it was my car or something (they have a really strickt rule about visiters having to park on the side of the road) Then I see THAT THE SON-OF-A-BITCH PUT A BIG DENT IN THE BACK OF MY CAR!!!!! My brand new 2001 Hyandai Elantra (that I even named Ki) that I just bought in October only had 6000 miles on. So I'm like "What the hell happened!?" And he says "well I hit it when I was pulling it up." By now I'm even more pissed then before. "Who the hell is going to fix this!?" I snarled, he says,"oh we'll take care of it. All this time he's still trying to pull my car up onto the bed, apperently he didn't care if I owned it or not. So I said "Hold on, I'm going to go over to the office and figure out what's going on" and then he says to me "Did you know you were illegaly parked?" Now I'm ripped. "What the hell, I pay 8$ a month for this space, it's my spot!" to which he says "well they told me to tow all the cars away here so they can plow" What!? All this time I'm in my bare feet so I run back inside, put on some shoes and head to the office. Inside there's about 3 maintenence guys and the office temp lady. So I say to them "Why are you having my car towed!?" and the lady speaks up and say's "Hey if you're not going to move your car so we can plow then we're going to have it towed away." and I'm like "how the hell am I supposed to know you're going to plow if you don't tell me!?" and she says "well we always plow after it snows, we aren't going to go door to door and tell you it should already be moved." Now mind you this is the afternoon, it's probably been about 12hrs since it's snowed, and usually the plow in the morning, so why the hell would I think they would be plowing that day if it had been so long for them to start? Also, in the time it takes to wait for the guy to tow all the cars away they could have just saved themselves some time and gone door to door and told everyone they were plowing, wouldn't have taken them all 5 minutes to do if they split up, but instead they wait what must have been an hour and piss of the tenents by towing away their cars. Assholes! So then I say "well, can I have my car back, you can't just go around taking peoples cars!" One of the maintenence guys says "we don't care what happens to the car as long as it's out of the parking lot. I storm off and run back to the truck. I say to him "they said you can take the car off. He says OK but once it's on the truck you have to pay to take it back off. I roll my eyes "fine how much?" he says "$100", I blink in disbelief "What?" "$100", "What?", "$100". Oh man, I never keep cash on me, and deffinatly not $100 worth. Thankfully Zanza is standing next to me and says, "I'll pay it, I'll be right back" he walks off and then stops and yell "And that's my car over there, don't you dare touch it!" and goes off again. I say to the guy "Fine, now can you take my car off" "nope, not until I get the money" *sigh* so wait a while, finally Zanza comes back and give him the money. The guy just stares at us, I say "can you put my car back down now? He says "Oh sure" he lowers the back of the bed and tells me to go and drive it off. I do. I get out and say to him, "so how are you going to take care of the damage?" This time I get a different answer than before "Well we aren't liable for any damages once we hook up the vehicles" I'm shocked, there's no way I can pay to fix the damage myself. So I say to the guy, "then who's going to fix the damage?" and he then points to the office again and says "go ask them" Grrrr... So I go back to the office and yell inside "Who the hell is going to fix the damage to my car, the tow guy said he isn't responcible!" One of the maintenance guys says "Go back and tell him he's full of shit. He's 100% responcible. Go tell him he's full of shit" I go back out and at this time the guy's hooking up another car. I say to him "They told me you were 100% responcible for the damage" and he says "well I'll have to check with the boss" Now I'm worn out and say "whatever, I'm calling the police" He says "what?" and I say "I'm calling the police, this was an accident and I have to let them know". He didn't seem to thrilled about that but I didn't give him a chance to say anything else. I storm back to my appartment and call the tow company and asked to speak to their boss. Oh great, the boss is away for a few days on a ski trip! So I call the police and report the accident, unfortunatly the officer is busy at another scene and it's going to be a while. Whatever just as long as he comes by. Finally at 3 the officer shows up and I tell him about everything that happened. He says to me "don't worry, I understand, I'm not going right anything in the report that will go against you. They're in the business of towing cars, not wrecking them" I'm starting to feel a lot better now, finally someone who understands! So he fills out the paper work and calls the station and tell them to call the towing company and then send the driver back to talk to him. He tells me to go back inside and wait for him to finish the paperwork with the other guy and he'll bring the papers to me. I go back in and wait for about half an hour, by now it's 3:45pm. He comes by and give me some papers and says "well since it happened when it was hooked up and he didn't actually back into it we may not have it filed as an accident." I'm starting to feel uneasy, what does this mean? He then says, "but that doesn't change that they have to pay it" Oh good, I'm starting to feel a bit better again. He says "well here's how this will work, go and get an estemit and see what the damage comes out to be. If it's over $1000 then we'll have it listed as an accident, but it'll go into your inssurance file even though it wasn't your fault. But if it's under $1000 then don't worry about the paper work and I'll take care of the rest." So now I'm thinking, man, I hope it's under $1000, I don't want this on my insurance. So at about 4pm I get to the dealer (which is thankfully not far away) and have them run an estimet. After taking a few pictures and doing some computer work the guy tells me that it's going to be $765 in damage. OK so now I know where I'm at with this, I called the officer back and left him a message with the price and have to wait for him to get back to me on that. It's been a long day, I'm just tired of it all. And I'm still pretty pissed off but I'm calmed down quite a bit now.
