You could use phpBB, like the
Militia Forum uses. It's free, but you need to have a
database (e.g MySQL).

I know you could get at least one of the databases supported for free (I've worked with open source PostGreSQL...a UC invention, if I remember correctly). That would take some initial admin attention though. Depending on Pat's skills/patience, the $54 might be worth it. The other advantage of EZBoard is that a lot of us and fans from other schools already have accounts.

How easy is phpBB to set up (for a semi-normal person, not a compSci major)? Does it support threaded view?
