I have to agree with the article - classless.

It's one thing for fans to get that chant going, but players??

I mean, if I went to the Hart Center, I would participate in a "this is our house" pre-game chant but I certainly wouldn't if BU had just pasted HC by 30.

And if Bettencourt, Lee, and McNaughton gathered at center court after the game to start that chant, I'd call for Flannery's head and be done with the team.

I'll devil's advocate here. This whole argument is crap. There is nothing special or sacred about Alumni Hall. Navy is a D1 sports program who fields athletic teams and, in this regard, they should be treated like any other sports program. Its not like this was taking place on the Quad or at graduation. It's a gym like any other.

This is a young team, winning their first League game on the road, a team that has suffered with poor chemistry in recent years, that is now energized and playing stronger, better, team basketball.

If this were any other bulding, folks would not be alarmed.
