first, i honestly dont know about the meister situation. my personal feeling is that eric isnt a prototypical pat flannery 4 since he only has range out to maybe 12 feet. though hes a good player who i think will be a decent patriot league forward down the road, he certainly wasnt too good to pass up, especially with behan (a great flannery fit) on the table. im not sure if eric had any interest in bucknell.
i am fairly familiar with the willie morse saga, though. yes, he did indeed commit to penn state as a sophomore. im not sure how 'formal' the scholarship offer was at that point, but it was certainly generally agreed upon that he would be recieving a scholarship. however, things went downhill quickly with the firing of jerry dunn. some believed at the time that the loss of interest was willies alone while others felt it was mutual. in a situation like that it is often hard to discern the truth. but nonetheless, when morse reopened his recruiting he found himself a midmajor recruit. the opportunity to play in the a-10 lead him to st. bonaventure.
as anyone who has followed the program knows, st bonaventure was in a huge mess when willie committed. im not even sure if he ended up on scholarship his first year because of the restrictions, though the concept was that he would eventually. im not entirely sure why he decided to transfer so quickly, but there are certainly plenty of understandable reasons.
as for ending up at colgate, it was one of his finalists prior to his st bonaventure commitment. i know he visited and enjoyed the school. looking back on it all, it looks pretty ugly. willie is a good kid though and should do very well in hamilton.
sorry i cant be of more help... my best basketball connection has in recent years moved on to bigger and better things. well, hes going to be an accountant.
