just looked up LHU out of curiosity. they were a poor team last year and all of their size this year will be freshman. does not look like much of a test for the Bison. they will scrimmage Penn State a couple of days prior.

Irony of the week: Penn State dropped Bucknell last year and replaced them with Lock Haven.

Bucknell scrimmaged Penn State last year behind closed doors as well. The PSU athletic department wants to ensure there isn't a public record of what will happen there.

I saw LHU last year (don't ask). They weren't very good versus their in-conference D-3 competition. It should be a good chance to see the new BU freshman class.

Loch Haven is not DI so the scrimmage can be open without counting as a game. cannot have an open scrimmage against another DI team.

also, rereading my post, i was not clear, Lock Haven is scrimmaging PSU a couple of days before they scrimmage BU. it is likely BU will also scrimmage PSU again this year, but that would be closed.

Rutgers will scrimmage at Bucknell on Nov 12. either PSU now refuses to even scrimmage or perhaps we decided to upgrade the opposition.

penn state did beat rutgers in the rac last year... the whole penn state situation is very unfortunate, though.

What I find sad is that the Bucknell-Penn State relationship has always been one of the red headed step child but it was a nice "big game" rivalry that Bucknell enjoyed.

Conversely, Bucknell has not played Bloomsburg in football for years, a game in which Bloomsburg would have won at any point in the last 5 years.
