HUGE win for the Bison!!! Although it will not get they hype of the Kansas win since it comes in December rather than the NCAA tournament, in a way it was a tougher one - having to play in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse was coming off of a close NIT Final loss to Florida after beating Texas Tech and Bobby Knight by 35 points, so they are not exactly a pushover.

Looking at the box score, it looks like all of the "big four" had big games. McNaughton with double figures in rebounds, Bettencourt with a great shooting night and clutch FT shooting, Lee with his usual superb all-around game, and Badmus apparently playing well. There apparently had been some concern about Badmus' health (?) but he turned in another solid performance under pressure - 4 steals, 3 assists, and only 1 turnover against what I would assume was a fair amount of pressure. Some solid performances by the others as well. One big stat: 18 for 21 from the line, led by Bettencourt and Lee.

Did anyone listen to the game? (or better yet actually see it??)

i listened. what impressed me most is that when syracuse went on a run late in the first half and another early in the second, the bison weathered the storm... on the road... against a very talented team... in front of nearly 20000 fans.

the team played maybe two bad minutes the entire game (at the end of the first half). and though syracuse didnt bring its 'a' game, we didnt, either. we just made shots when we needed them. broke the press. hit our free throws. forced them to execute on offense. we did all the things a veteran team should do. and tonight, it paid off.

huge win.

I listened to the second half of the game on www.sportsjuice.com. Very impressive victory. The Bison played very disciplined basketball and were tough on defense. The team has the right mix of outside shooting and inside power. With a year of "big time" experience under their belts, the team will not be taken lightly in the future. A great schedule over the next month with Niagara, Depaul and Villanova (at home). Should be interesting.

Syracuse got beat by a better team tonight! I listened to the entire game on the Internet, and this win was not a fluke. They outplayed Syracuse with confidence the entire way, withstood a run in the second half, settled down, shot the lights out on foul shooting, and shut Syracuse down with great defense, all in front of thousands of stunned fans. Enjoy the ride and support this team, guys! They are like Gonzaga 6 years ago, and even better in a way, due to the great run last year which positions them well for a lot of nnational attention. You will not sneak up on anybody else! I hope you beat everybody but Holy Cross!

Let's Go Bison!!!

I believe that with a win over Yale at home, we are ranked in one poll on Sunday evening.

What we are seeing here right now is truly magical for Bucknell and any Patriot League school. Outside of Duke, any team Bucknell beats on their schedule for the rest of the year is not a genuine upset. This team is disciplined, athletic enough, well coached, nice inside/outside game, and methodical. Did I mention well coached? I don't think Flannery get nearly enough credit. This guy finally has the tools to compete (facility, schollies) look at th results!!!

I would like to see us rebound better but who give s shit?

Let's GO Bison!

Lastly, what has happened that Lafayette is barely escaping Alvernia at the Kirby? Sad times for the folks in Easton. My heart actually goes out to the fans of a once proud program.

Sorry - I hit the wrong keys on the previous post. It was a fantastic win for the Bison.

Back from the game (damn it's cold up there).

How much fun was that? There are about 20,000 Syracuse fans who know what we know -- Bucknell is a team that is 10 deep, has size to thump with a Big East team and is experienced in winning big games.

Also, some good fan support at the game - including a section in the upper deck chanting "let's go Bison" in the final moments.

The Syracuse paper wrote a nice article on the team entitled "Bison for Real" - go to syracuse.com and check it out.

seems Mr. Badmus effectively addressed any concerns about his play. he had an excellent game as did the entire team.

great to get another win of this caliber, but cannot overlook anybody on the schedule (okay maybe Haverford).

also some great coverage again on ESPN etc. i plan to tune in to the Duke/Drexel game tonight and expect Dukie V. will be giving the Bison props (i assume he is doing the NIT games) and reminding all that he mentioned this as a risky game for Syracuse last week. i am not a big fan, but if he jumps on the bandwagon, the Bucknell name will be thrown out frequently over the next week. that can't be all bad.

Abe was great. His strip of McNamara late in the game was huge (and the box score I saw had him at 5 rebounds!).

Seeing them live for the first time this year - I was struck by Bucknell's size at the 4 and 5. Mastropaolo looks like he's got 15 additional pounds over last year - Tarik and McNaughton were big to begin with - and Linthicum is physically similar/perhaps a bit bigger than McNaughton (and he's only a Freshman).
