my how the times have changed. a year ago the Bison win over SJs was big news and SJs the subject of ridicule on various basketball message boards. this year, it is a complete ho-hum result getting ink only from people with a fairly direct interest from one of the schools. that's progress of a sort.

this was still a big win for Bucknell. a game they were expected to win, but still it demonstrated that they have the ability to play with the target on them now.

of course full respect is not there. based on the comments of a majority of opposing teams fans, the Bison should be 3-6 now.

Progress is being made..........

Look at it this way, it's awesome getting Holy Cross fans so angry! Their board is nearly unbelievable.

This was a very nice win. A couple of thoughts from my trip last night:

- I witnessed ticket scalping, as the box office ran out of tickets 15 minutes before tip.
- Crowd was full - but not too rowdy, however a small group of students decided to chant "J-Lo" at Jalloh (that was funny).
- Add Chet Stachitas to the growing list of star offensive players to struggle versus the Bison D. (for what it's worth, I was not impressed with him off the ball. He was either tired, lazy or both last night - was standing around waiting for the ball a lot).
- I think Martelli will watch that tape and have to get Nivins the ball more as the season progresses. That kid is going to be a special player for them. Thankfully, they didn't decide to do that more last night.

One final thought. I miss the annual pre-Christmas game versus Penn State. I wish Ed DeChellis would grow a pair and reschedule the Bison.

Happy Holidays, all!

Do you have any idea what that (DeChellis scheduling BU) might do to Bucknell's RPI?

I saw one Penn State game this year. Looking at their team, I think Joe Paterno could take some of them one on one. Their scheduling philosophy is to schedule extremely weak teams at home and try to build up some wins before being humiliated in the Big Ten. Sadly, they will never have the courage to schedule the Bison again.

Penn State is 6-3 right now, with the wins being over Division I powers Cornell (by about 10 pts), Nicholls State, LIU, UMKC, St Francis, and New Hampshire. The losses were to Pitt (by 37 points), Texas A&M, and Clemson. The latter two teams will be way under .500 in their conferences. Penn State stays home over Christmas to entertain two more powerhouses - IPFW and Mt St Mary's. Once they start Big Ten play, another 1-15 season looks like it's in sight, although they do get Northwestern and Purdue at home so 2-14 could be possible.

We had been knocking on the door of a PSU win for years. (If memory serves we only lost by 6 points 2-3 yrs back)

It'll be awhile before we get the chance again.

While we're on the subject of cupcake schedules, how about PITT 9-0 for the fourth consecutive season.... 8 home wins and not one quality win....

And yet they still receive more votes than us....
