Let's have em...Bucknell-Duke predictions! Who thinks they can pull it off???

Personally, I think Bucknell takes a very small lead into the half. Then, Duke comes out on fire and takes the lead and keeps a 5 point lead most of the second half. However, the Bison will lurk and will have a shot at the end. I am not going to say that Bucknell wins, but it would not shock me!

By the way, take a look at Duke's box score today. 27-28 shooting from the free throw line. The Bison have a tendency to foul a lot. If we put Duke on the line a lot, we will be in deep trouble.

This game is the last game of the year (possibly excepting the B-buster)that we will be the underdog. There was a post on one of the other threads to the effect that maybe we aren't all that good. In all honesty, I believe we went from getting too little respect to being over respected by the ESPNs etc in their never ending quest for the great story. People who really know nothing about BU BB expected us to beat 'nova. In all honesty we should have beaten SC, but many on this board fretted about the SC game beforehand--because this is not a team of supermen. I truly do not believe we would fare well against a steady stream of top 25 competition--if we did, something would be wrong given the type of player/student we get compared to what they get.

Fact is though, this is as good as it has ever gotten for a PL team, and after Duke (which would be a true miracle)we need to get back to taking care of the real business of the year--winning the PL. And everybody starts even on 1/7. What SC proved was what I think we all knew anyway, that going into a decent teams home court is tough, and thus I'll worry about each PL road game until we put it behind us (maybe not Army--but remember the playoffs a few years ago).

Duke--I won't worry about one bit--its the last game of the year in which the Bison have nothing to lose.

Realistically the Bison go into this game as an underdog of more than 15 points (some would say 20). To hold the margin down to 10 or 12 would be a good accomplishment. Anything better than that would be great.

McNaughton and Badmus need to stay out of foul trouble if the Bison want to have any chance.

That first post regarding duke foul shooting was right on.
I'll be rooting for Bucknell on this but its a big hill to climb. Duke 82-68. I hope they prove me wrong.

sorry, no prediction from me. i am simply hoping for a good game and looking forward to an enjoyable first (and quite possibly last) Cameron Indoor experience.

freshman Paulus and McRoberts are coming on strong. Duke is much better than when they had some 'close' games against BU and Drexel early in the season. McRoberts may be the best big man we have seen and he plays behind Williams on this team.

having said all that, the Bison have proven they are a good team. if they play with confidence and take care of the ball, they will acquit themselves well.

>>>McRoberts may be the best big man we have seen and he plays behind Williams on this team.<<<

Actually McRoberts, who is 6'10" and was the McDonald's H.S. player of the year, starts alongside Williams. That means Mastropaolo will be forced to guard one of them. To have any chance, the Bison need to avoid foul trouble, which will be difficult.

thanks for the correction. i thought Mastropaolo might be assigned to the big man if only one were in the game (at least when Williams was in) to protect Chris M from foul trouble. we will need Tarik to provide some good minutes today.

..some pre-game quotes from the Dukies about Bucknell.

Coach K: "It won't be hard to get ready for them because we respect them. They've earned the respect of everybody".

JJ Redick: "We're playing a team that really believes that they can come in and beat us, and they can. They're a veteran group, and they've already knocked off some really good squads this year."
