I would anticipate Tarik getting minutes against physical teams cause he's a load underneath.......

Clark is the enigma to me. Team is undefeated with him a a starter and his stats are underwhelming. He most be doing all of the little things to make the team better.....Classic role player with a big, unsung role?

i think your assumption re Clark's role is pretty accurate. most good teams have complementary role players who understand and are happy to fill that role. Clark generally gives a bit of everything. i think his greatest contributions are a combination of both physical and mental toughness and an absolute commitment to the teams success whatever the situation requires of him. while he doesn't look to score often, he doesn't hesitate to take a key shot if the situation calls for it. have seen a few occasions where he forces things a bit too much when the team is struggling offensively.

he is also a very good passer; had one against Rider that i am sure would have been on SportsCenter highlights if the game were covered by anyone.

i would also say Donald Brown is evolving into a similar role, but filling different needs with his athleticism. he scored a fair amount in the first half of last year, but now contributes more as a defensive stopper and hitting the boards. course sometimes when you see him with a spectacular dunk, you wish he got to do more of that.

Ken, what are your thoughts on this year's signees? Seems like we're recruiting guard heavy.........

Vegotsky and Castleberry, in what I have read, are nearly the same player........

i have faith in the coaching staff's ability to assess talent. based on all three being early signees plus Flannery's comments on their ability to contribute early, i am optimistic.

i disagree with the Vegotsky/Castleberry comparison.

Castleberry can play either guard spot, but will presumably play primarily point at BU. that is the biggest hole to be filled on next years squad. Abe is excellent, but we need a true backup (Griffin and Bett do okay there, but are not who i want against an athletic/ pressing team). Castleberry appears to be having an outstanding senior season playing with and against top notch comp.

Vegotsky will only play the two spot. sounds like he is a good prospect, but his team is young this year and he is getting a lot of attention from the opposing defenses.

if not for Coach's comments, i would have guessed Linthicum was a bit of a project type player recruited for size and potential. I don't see much info on him. Since i have never seen him play, i will hope and assume that i am incorrect as i often am.
