Bettencourt may be the point. i think of all of them as off guards, perhaps they will play point by committee. we definitely need to anticipate growing pains this year. that will mean inconsistency and some dry spells. however, it is easier to accept this when you are dealing with a young team that shows future potential. watching the development of players and a team can be enjoyable, although it would be even nicer to be a title contender.

as for Blankenship, i don't think anyone puts him in a class with Holden, Joseph or Courtney (or Seneca). i am not so sure i would call him overrated, however, since he is not put in that class. he filled a more traditional point guard role, but unfortunately did not have the surrounding cast of players Flannery did. Pat had Barry, Leslie and Sigl to pass the ball off to, plus he played in the Woolum system which provided more scoring/assist opportunities and did not play as much half-court defense as Flannery's (coached) teams do. Blankenship did have match up troubles with some of the quicker guards, but on the whole he was a smart and active defensive player. on the whole, while he would not be close to first pick for an all time team, i would be happy to have him on any team and believe he could help this years team a great deal.

See, and I thought Rodgers should have played more from the get go...

The other factor is that Danny was an awful free throw shooter for his position, had trouble hitting wide open threes, and couldn't penetrate...

Ken, on the women's side, did the player we initally got a committment from Kansas decommitt? I cannot recall her name. Further, can Almind stay healthy this year? If she does, she'll be first team all League. Further, did you see my post on the PL page about Molly playing in Israel? She got screwed by the Liberty....I don't get that decision to cut her.

Did anyone hear what officially happened w/ Rodgers and Slater? Just received the media guide and both have full-page spreads...so it was definitely a last minute leaving the team. Will be interesting to see if Pat puts Badmus in after a few games and looking forward to the competition next year w/ Griffin.

Dan, you obviously did not like Blankenship's game and I'm not going to change your mind. One note, he shot 70.3% from the line last year. This is not that great for a point guard, but then Jave Meade shot 71.0%. I think better of his defense, and driving capability than you do.

Kyley Kidwell was the women's recruit. Don't know what happened, but I do not believe she is enrolled at Bucknell. Interestingly, there is a freshman named Kelley Kidwell on the women's JV team.

Seems odd to me that the Rodgers eligibility was determined so late. BB, i'll take a guess that Badmus will get some real playing time this year. i suspect it will depend on the game situation, at least early in the season. will be given a chance to perform and if he develops quickly could be the backup by PL season. do you have any qualms about using the BreakinBison moniker in the Flannery era?

Sorry for the late reply....no qualms except that Flannery's team like to win games 50-44 and open not good in the open court!!! That will change with better athletes of course.

Yale was a tough loss but Yale is darn good. This team is going to be dangerous this year I think. Holy Crossis still the best in the PL, but with no clear second, at this point I'll take Bucknell....thoughts?
