The youngsters have now won 5 out of the last 6. Bett was super. Mac and Lee had slow starts but strong finishes. Donald Brown seems to love the John Havlicek sixth man role. Badmus did a good job on Meade. Glover made a stong contribution, as did Tarik. Clark had an opening trey and will continue to grow. I like this club more every day. Keep it going Bison!!

Bettencourt certainly 'picked' a great time to get back on target. i'm sure he particularly enjoyed having a good game and beating HC.

i really like the mental toughness the team is displaying. gave up leads to both the 'Gate and HC, but came back strong in both games to get the win. all these young guys look to be psychologically tough as well as skilled players.

next couple of games are at home, but against top PL contenders. could be an indicator of just how far the Bison have come, and if they are ready to challenge for the top this year.

Bucky, i know you are aware of just how young this team is, but for any others who wander by check the following contributions from frosh and soph classes against HC:

minutes played (165/200)
points (73/77)
rebounds (19/25) (Glover, a Junior picked up 5)

Go Bison!

This group of young guys is becoming dangerous at the right time.......2 sophs and 3 frosh starting, 6th man a frosh. Incredible.

Wish we could have that Penn State game back at the end of the season.

Now have won 7 out of last eight. Tough win against Lehigh tonight. Up by 8 or 9 at the half, then let Lehigh back into it. Frankly, fortunate to win. Toughening up, though. They need to win on the road Saturday at Navy, historically a tough place for Flannery to win. Let us see. Charles Lee a player. Bett was Bett. Clark a real good passer. Abe progressing. Brown an off night. Big Mac a strong game. Lee an absloute rock shooting fouls down the stretch. The future looks bright. Jeff Jones says the future is now for the Bison.

GO BISON!!!!

Just wondering if you were at the game. Lehigh's beat writer, Dorky Blake, of the Express-Times, spent about half his article on the intentional foul call with 9.9 seconds left. His and Lehigh's perspective is that it was a bad call. Of course, Flannery and Lee said it was the proper call. If you were there, how did you see it? I'll be out there next Friday, will you be in your costume????

In my opinion, it was plays such as this one last night that caused the intentional foul rule to be instituted. Real late, sure basket looming, grab him, prevent the basket, force him to make foul shots, then get the ball back to retake the lead. The refs were horrible all night, but as I said, if you are looking for a reason why the rule was instituted, this situation was it.

Did you happen to see the skirmish between Flannery and the Lehigh assistant (was it Matt Logie?)? Both the Daily Item and Corky Blake mentioned the scuffle at midcourt after the game...any details?

The entire game was characterized by Lehigh trash talking. For example, pre-game, Rowland yelled to PL POW Charles Lee, saying ,"you bitch-ass M___er F___er". They are thugs. After the game, a Lehigh assistant (not Logie), going down the handshake line, got to Flannery and yelled, "THAT'S F___KING BULLSHIT!!!", instead of shaking hands with class. Presumably, the assistant was upset about the intentional foul call.

Taylor better get his troops under control. This type of stuff is not only atypical of the PL, but was reportedly not seen against conferences such as the Big Ten, etc. Classless.

Thanks Bucky...I happened to see the game at Lehigh (not easy for an alum living in Florida)due to some business travel and Rowland was talking all sorts of smack...running down and screaming in front of the BU bench after nailing a 3.....should be interesting if they meet again in the tournament.

You see the plays that happened at the end of the game your way. What you dont see on the "intentional foul" is the Lehigh player was pushed into Lee by Mcnaghton going for the rebound. And the Lehigh player never rapped anyone up. I, personally, believe Lehigh will receive an apology from the PL about that call. As for after the game, I (or you for that matter)have no idea what was said during the handshakes. But, Pat Flannery was pushing and shoving LU coaches. Emotions ran high, but dont call the Lehigh program and especially Billy Taylor classless. Thats absurd, both teams had roles in the unfortunate events after the game.
