Rabbit usually do not need baths because they can keep themselves clean (by grooming themselves), however, I do understand your wife's concern about an initial cleaning before letting the family play with it. Baths can actually be quite traumatic for most rabbits (they might scream and panic). If you must clean it, use soapy water and a rag and then use a wet rag to wash the soap off. You can dry it with a towel (really good) or the hair dryer. Make sure there is no drafts that can cause the rabbit to catch a chill.
