Subject: Good luck with the door! Here's what I did with the floor...
In reply to: suzanne 's message, "I found my neat cubes! :) but floor+door question?" on 19:31:29 04/19/02 Fri

I am still working on trying to get my door just right. At the moment I have a top floor door (connected at the bottom of one grid with two zip ties and held closed with a bungee cord that I attached to the top of the cage and then the middle of the grid) and a bottom floor door- that I have connected with zip ties on one side and the other side I tie closed with small piece of rope).

My floor is just a piece of linoleum that the cage is placed on top of. The linoleum piece is much larger than the bottom of the cage. Linoleum is easy to sweep up and clean accidents. It's slippery but some buns like to slip and slide around their cages. Also, linoleum is cool and can help keep the bunnies cool on hot days. I've noticed that when Owen and Sage are hot they sleep on the linoleum rather than in their kitty condo on the top level. I don't know how to post pictures here yet and I am not even going to attempt to try it right now but I'll give you the addy to my webshots page and a picture of my cage is there. Hopefully you can see the bottom okay...it was hard to get the whole cage in the picture.
