Subject: Bun too warm?

Corky has a small bathroom rug in her cage to lay on (to prevent sore hocks and all- not that she's a big bunny yet, but I wanted her to be comfortable). However, she refuses to lay on it- she'll go out of her way to kick it around until she can lay directly on the bottom wire. I've tried a few different things (scrap carpet, a towel, a pillowcase), but everything just gets kicked around until she can lay on the "bare floor". Is it possible that she's just too warm to lay on anything? I live in the Deep South, but I have A/C and it's usually on year-round at a comfy 74 degrees- plus her cage is on the floor, where it's cooler to begin with. Any suggestions would be helpful- I'd rather not have to deal with sore hocks or anything later if I can prevent it now! Thanks!
