Karen, as I've been instructed by others, that rabbits' skin cannot breathe the way ours can and therefore saturating it with water isn't probably a good idea. Honestly, I don't know the details, but several times I've seen posts in the past on the Acme board and people generally warn that even water is a bad idea....

I think that for the most part rabbits can keep themselves clean. If you do need to wash..I would suggest taking a damp cloth and cleaning the fur that way rather than actually putting your rabbit in the water...I hope this helps and I'm sorry I don't have the actual details. ( I will try to find out more ( I belong to the Ontario Rabbit Education Organization..so they know quite a bit about bunny stuff...I will question about this and get back to you )
