 Reading the story so far, how can you see it unfolding in book 3?

I don't have my copies here, they are on loan to a friend but I'm wondering what role that forest creature (I can't remember how it is referred to in the book but it was kind of a Puck type creature - the one who kind of trails them through the forests and gives Imrhein the flower)is going to play as the threads of the story come together in book 3. I have my suspicions as to who he is, what about you?
