Subject: Friendship

As of now,

I feel that I must state my case and set the record straight. I derived a great amount of pleasure from performing and being part of a group; a band; a friendship. I had also put a lot of effort into the band, work that was not often seen.

The band was built on the basis friendship, which of that there is no dispute, but as friends go, you all have not demonstrated any redeeming qualities. What kind of friends would fire someone from a group that has only been together for a year with no real clear plans nor any immediate goals (oh not to mention after they had just spent a weekend enjoying themselves at the expense of their host)?

For many weeks this paradox puzzled me, I just could not see how my friends could hurt me so much (make no mistake I was devastated when I was told the news and I am not going to pretend that it was okay). Now what really got me was that my friends, that had just let me go, still wanted to use my equipment to practice with in a band I was no longer in. Why would I say no to that? Could it have something to do with the cruel and inhumane way I was downsized?

When I entered this band I thought it was in friendship and with friends that would stick through all the trials and tribulations of any sort of growth. Not just drop me at the first sight of some trouble or slight inconvenience (without even providing a reasonable or coherent explanation). It is not a business that can be maximized to increase personal profit at the expense of humanity.

I ask you this: Was it easier to simply cast away all friendship to further a local bands small reputation and gain a marginal amount of popularity or was there really ever any friendship there at all?

You still want to be my friend, try growing some morals.

Miles
