“Machine Head” by Bush plays for the arrival of Team Canada’s captain, Petey Williams. He walks out from the back in his Team Canada jacket, climbing into the ring.








AIN’T NO STOPPIN’ ME NOOOOOOOW!







The crowd cheers for the Raw debut of Shelton Benjamin! He bounces out from the back, full of energy and takes a look around with a grin before making his way down. He leaps onto the ring apron and springs inside from over the top rope, raising his arms above his head.


Shelton enters the ring as Petey sizes him up from across it. Williams feints right in after his legs first, and slides out on his knees. Benjamin backs up some and then goes right in with a collar and elbow tie up as the bell sounds, neither man waiting for it. He forces Williams back into the corner, and is almost surprised by the clean break. Petey puts his fists up and Benjamin does the same before referee Tim White signals for them to go back into it. Another tie-up is won by Williams, who ducks quickly around Benjamin with a hammerlock.

Shelton bends forward and reaches down between his legs, yanking Petey to the canvas and rolling backwards into a pin attempt. Williams pops his shoulder up at two, and shuffles through it, turning Shelton on his side for a pin of his own. Benjamin kicks out at two and fires to his feet. Williams snatches him out and flips him over with an arm drag. Benjamin instead steadies his legs and ducks under Petey with a fireman's carry. He takes a few steps forward and crashes right back into the canvas with a Samoan Drop!


JR: "This Three sport athlete , the Pride of South Carolina, is shockingly outwrestling Team Canada's Captain Petey Williams, no small feat in itself!"


Williams hits the mat hard, as Benjamin pops up to his feet. Petey goes to his, and is met by a vicious chop to the chest from Shelton. Benjamin shoves him into the corner and lets fly with another, before Irish Whipping him to the other side. Petey leaps up and lands on the second turnbuckle, as he sees Benjamin race in. Williams shoves his legs off, latching them onto Shelton's shoulders and spins himself around into a Hurricanrana, taking Raw's newest superstar over in a flash!


Piper: "And just to counter your point, JR... we see why Petey Williams is not only captain of his team, but pound for pound, arguably the best mat wrestler in the business today!"


Williams comes flying at Benjamin as soon as he lands, knocking him to the mat with a running calf kick. Petey jumps right onto him with a pin attempt, before Benjamin presses him off at 2. Williams comes right back with an attempted elbow drop, but Shelton rolls out of the way with it. Petey hits all canvas, before bouncing up and running into a single leg takedown that smacks him nose first into the mat! Benjamin turns around and goes to yank Williams to his feet, before Petey shoots up with an elbow to his ribs, and starts to yank him into a vertical suplex. Shelton blocks the suplex, and shoves Petey out of it. Williams comes right back with a kick to the midsection, before whipping Shelton into the corner. Benjamin gets about halfway there, then springs quickly up to the TOP turnbuckle and bounces back with a clothesline that flattens Williams on the canvas! Shelton jumps right onto him and yanks his leg back for a 1....2....TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO only as Petey shoots his arm out!

Shelton yanks Petey up by the shorts and goes to bring him up and down with a belly to back suplex. Williams adjusts in midair and flips out of it, landing behind Benjamin and trying for a Northern Lights Suplex. Shelton raises his knee and quickly snaps him into the setup for his T-Bone, before Williams jams an elbow into the side of his head, then turns a hammerlock around. Petey drops down quickly and yanks Benjamin up by the waist, dropping him face first into a flapjack! Williams then keeps hold of his legs and turns him over and starts stepping through with a Texas Cloverleaf! Shelton instead reaches up and grabs Williams, rolling him down into a small package that gets ONE...TWO...ONLY TWOOOOOO!

Petey fires his arm out in frustration and tries to scramble back up. Shelton gets caught with an eye rake as Petey backs away, swinging out an imaginary chain and reeling Benjamin in closer to him. He then gets set to jump onto his back for the Canadian Destroyer, but Benjamin grabs him in midair, dropping him across an Inverted Atomic Drop. Benji then goes forward with a superkick that Williams catches and spins him around. Shelton goes into a full 360 and comes back around with a Dragon Spin kick that almost takes Petey's head into the front row! Petey drops to the mat like a sack of potatoes, as Shelton yanks back on his leg. Tim White jumps back onto the canvas and counts a 1...2...and THREE!


The bell sounds as Shelton Bebnjamin’s innovative style advances him to the Semifinals of the King of the Ring! He goes to his feet and celebrates his successful debut to cheers from the fans!
