When the main feed of Raw comes back, Jim Ross is shown sitting at his desk.

"Ladies and gentlemen, at this point we take you to a special announcement from the Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. This was taped earlier today before Orton went into preparations for his match tonight against Chris Jericho. Its marked as a special message for Smackdown's World Champion Jesse Hart. Lets take you to the footage."

Randy Orton is shown sitting in a studio, by himself, with the UCW Heavyweight Championship over his shoulder.


"So...what do you do when a plan DOESNT come together? It started out perfectly. I'd take out DDP, and go to the Royal Rumble. Probably get knocked out quickly, and be back at the starting gate, happy for the scraps I got. Its always funny how things change. Whether it was Evolution, and taking bullets for the higher ups. Brock Lesnar, the Rock, John Cena, Mick Foley, Page, any of them...I made my name as a Legend Killer.

And then? I became Legendary.

A year ago, I posed the question..."What's causing all this?" At the time, it was Evolution and Randy Orton...then it went to a Dynasty, then? It went to Randy Orton on his own. I spent the majority of this year chasing Chris Jericho and the Heavyweight Championship. And I won. I took this belt." Orton unstraps it from his shoulder and shows it to the camera.

"The name on the plate says Randy Orton. Raw's Heavyweight Champion. Not Smackdown's bitch. Not Jesse Hart's understudy, and NO man's second. At the end of the day, that's what burns him up. He wanted to take MY work, MY blood, sweat and tears and drop it at the feet of his brand. I was to give the championship right up, and be happy to see him take it.

And I would have...until I felt that weight on my shoulder. It was the weight of my family, of my career, my future, and MY company. I'm the standard now. As much as you want to believe otherwise Jesse...I walked my road, and I did it like a man would. Not some punk that'll hand you the keys to the kingdom.

So...there's only one road now. We've got to do the thing. I'm going to save you the lecture time and say when and where. The King of the Ring. While the tournament goes on to put someone else in history...I'm going to put the same up against YOU. Champion vs Champion. Raw vs Smackdown. I can't speak for Evolution or what they do on your show. I CAN...however...send them a hello every now and again. So Donnie? Nick? Morgan? You're welcome ahead of time. Never let it be said I didnt take care of you."

"But back to you, big man....The challenge is set. The stakes are high. And I'm going all in. You gonna call, raise...or fold? Athene can't change the rules for you this time. So...show me how you play your hand."

Orton stares into the screen as it fades to black.
