"Cowboy" starts on the house sound system, sending out Jeff Jarrett. The former World Champion stops on the ramp and doesnt have his normal strut, full of doubt after last week's match against HBK.

Jarrett steps into the ring and tests its torque, before happening to glance up at the Titantron. The larger screen shows the highlights from the last time he locked up with Michaels, and the beating that he took. JJ stops and watches it for a while, playing the events over and over in his head before pausing, and glaring up the ramp. Jarrett's face controrts visibly and he gets angrier by the moment.


"Sexy Boy" comes on the speakers, as the fans go ballistic! Shawn Michaels comes bouncing from behind the curtain and goes to the ramp. Michaels steps out onto it and circles around, basking in every sound the crowd gives him. HBK kisses to the sky and then drops to his knees, giving praise to the heavens, before bouncing back up and walking to the ring.

The Heartbreak Kid finally watches Jarrett on the outside. JJ moves forward to block his entry way up the stairs, but Shawn just stands there, chewing his gum. He finally
nods and yanks himself in over the top rope and right into the heart of the fight! Jarrett meets him right out of the gates with a left hook that sends HBK's gum flying! Shawn returns the favor with an overhead punch, and the two slug it out back and forth! Shawn takes a shot that Jeff ducks, and the Chosen One yanks him up, going for a suplex!

HBK fights it before going over and lands back on his feet, trying to power over Jarrett. JJ does the same, before landing, as the two continue to see saw back and forth with the suplex attempt! Shawn finally is yanked up into the air, and squirms while he's up, landing behind Jeff with a headlock takeover! Jeff tries to fight out of it, and Shawn flips it around into a headscissors, twisting down on him.

JJ then goes to push HBK's legs out of it, but ends up turning onto his knees. Shawn tries to flip him back over as Jeff pushes himself up, and then snaps out of the hold, cracking Michaels across the jaw with a fist the second he can! Jarrett dives onto him after this and mounts him, pausing to sneer at the crowd before driving another punch into HBK's head! Referee Nick Patrick goes to warn JJ about the closed fists, but he shoves him away, reminding him of the No DQ ruling!

Michaels finally pushes Jarrett off of him, and checks his eyes, moving to the corner. The Chosen One backs away and comes rushing forward, driving his knee into the back of Michaels' head! HBK bounces out of the corner and crawls along the mat. Jarrett then reaches blatantly into his trunks and pulls out a steel chain, wrapping it around his fist. Jeff circles around him and puts a knee in the small of Michaels' back. He then loops the chain around his neck and pulls back as hard as he can! HBK's arms wave up and try to dislodge Jarrett's vice like grip on him. Shawn flails and tries to run up the ropes before being forced back down to the mat!

He then tries to roll through it, getting the Chosen One on his back, but Jeff reverses at 2 and locks his legs around Shawn's waist! Patrick goes to check HBK's arm, lifting it up once, then twice, and a third before the Heartbreak Kid jerks his arm aloft! He feints one way, and then another before rolling onto his side, and trying to force his way to his feet, reaching up to try and pry Jarrett's fingers off of the chain! Shawn gets to his knees, and then finally to his feet as JJ tries to force him back down! Michaels finally explodes backwards, driving Jeff's back into the corner! One hand starts to come loose, as Shawn pushes out and does it AGAIN! Jarrett finally breaks his hold around the chain, as Shawn stumbles out, trying to catch his breath. Jeff moves towards him and Shawn turns on a dime and clotheslines him HARD to the canvas! Jeff crashes into the mat as Michaels falls right next to him!

HBK rolls over and instead of going to get a breath, leaps onto Jeff and starts tagging him with rights and lefts on the mat. Jarrett shields himself for a bit and then uses his size advantage to roll Michaels over and return the flurry! He scurries to his feet and comes at him with a charging elbow, that Shawn ducks and back body drops him over the top rope and onto the apron! JJ lands on his feet and tries to climb up and back in. Shawn heads him off at the pass by jumping onto the 2nd turnbuckle and sailing off with a double axe handle that stuns Jeff on the apron! Michaels then reaches over, grabbing him by the head and suplexing him from the apron back into the mat, laying on the mat for a breather now.

The fans start to chant Michaels name, as the Showstopper takes a breath and kip ups to their approval! He stumbles to the corner and starts to yank on the ropes, firing the crowd right up! Michaels then rushes Jeff going for a clothesline, but JJ catches him with a boot to the stomach and attempts to drive him right into the mat with a DDT! Shawn reaches out and grabs the top rope, watching as Jarrett hits the mat himself! Michaels then pulls himself to the corner and starts to climb up it. Jeff gets up after a second and follows him up, punching him in the stomach and grabbing his tights. The two struggle for a bit, until JJ pulls him off of the top and crashes them BOTH into the mat with a superplex!

The fans go to their feet at this point, chanting Michaels' name repeatedly! Jarrett rolls out of the ring near the timekeeper's table, and yanks his chair out from under. He starts back towards the ring, shaking his head out to clear the cobwebs. He slides the chair back inside first, and then follows it. Nick Patrick tells him to get rid of it, but Jeff ignores him, reminding him again of the No DQ ruling! Michaels gets up after a few moments and turns around into a hellish chairshot from Jarrett! Jeff tosses the chair to the side after a sickening THWACK across the skull! He looks at HBK's crumpled body and ponders for a moment. Jeff then nudges his body with the tip of his foot and debates whether to even pin him or not. Jarrett finally shakes his head and rolls him onto his back with his foot, backing away. HBK's forehead is exposed to the cameras, and a huge split is shown across it!

Piper: "What are you DOING JJ? Go for the pin! The man is down!"

JR: "Maybe Jeff Jarrett has decided to do it the RIGHT way now...Maybe deep down still IS a former champion, who just won't accept a dirty win like this, No DQ or not!"

Jarrett turns his back on Michaels and tells Patrick to help him up. Nick wanders over and pulls Shawn to his feet, propping him up in the corner. Michaels head droops down a bit and then jolts back up, blinking through the blood on it. He uncrosses his eyes and looks over at Jarrett, finally falling to his knees. Jeff waits in the corner and shakes his head "No" at his opponent and starts to motion for the crowd to clap for him. Michaels looks around at the reaction starting up as the fans give him a standing ovation! Shawn gets upright and points to Jarrett, waving him to come and finish it like a man!

Jeff nods and charges the corner, right into a Michaels elbow to the mouth! JJ goes back in for another, as Shawn kicks him in the chest, and shoves him back away! Jarrett turns on a dime and rushes in, but HBK yanks himself up to the top rope and rolls along JJ's back bringing him over with a sunset flip for 1....2..ONLY 2 as Jarrett kicks out! Michaels moves to go for another rollup but Jeff keeps through it and latches his head and shoulder on the way up. He pulls Michaels to his feet and ends up in position for the Stroke! HBK finds himself going up and DOWN to the mat as Jeff pushes him over on his back! Jarrett then goes over and falls on Shawn's chest, getting 1...2...and a THREE COUNT!

But Nick Patrick waves it off as he notices Shawn's leg on the bottom rope! Jarrett gets off of him and holds his head in disbelief and exhaustion here, unable to BELIEVE that Shawn's surviving all of this! Jarrett backs up and yanks him to his feet by the trunks, going to give another Stroke, this time in the center of the ring. He goes for the arm and headlock, then sets up the legsweep. Shawn snaps awake and shoves JJ into the ropes to get some space. Jarrett comes back as Shawn with one last explosion whips him to the other side, turning to the side and CRACKING him across the jaw with a Sweet Chin Music!

The crowd ERUPTS as Jarrett falls to the mat like a falling tree. HBK stumbles in a circle before falling onto Jarrett, pulling up on the leg for the one... two... Thre-- NO! The ref is pulled out of the ring by...


... KURT ANGLE! The official SCREAMS at the Smackdown! superstar, but Angle shuts him up with a crack to the jaw! As HBK looks around to see what's going on, Kurt slides into the ring and lays right into him, stomping him on the chest as he turns around! The fans BOOM with boos as Kurt backs off, picking up the steel chair that sits in the ring and calls Michaels on! As soon as he stands, Angle rushes in with a steel chair shot, bouncing it off of HBK's head with a LOUD crack! As soon as HBK hits the mat, Angle looks down on him with a sadistic glare as the crowd curses him out. He then looks to the chair, and back to Shawn, and begins to hammer away on his back repeatedly with the chair!

Angle then slams the chair to the mat and looks over at Jarrett, grabbing him by the arm and drapes him across Michaels. On the outside, the ref pulls himself halfway up and Kurt drags HIM into the ring now, threatening him into counting the one, two, and three!

JR: "OH GOD NO...NOT LIKE THIS, NOT LIKE THIS!!!"

Piper: "Kurt Angle...But he's...Dear Lord...He's ruined this match, and left Shawn Michaels for DEAD!"


Angle then wastes no time in pulling Jarrett off of Michaels. Jarrett's music is then cut as Angle pulls Michaels up by the hair and holds him there, SLAPPING him across the face before bringing him up and over with an Olympic Slam! Micheals crashes into the mat, and Kurt mounts him, gripping him by the hair and sends fist after fist to his head, bloodying him up! Kurt tears his shirt off and tosses it aside before going back to town on HBK, splattering his blood all over his chest! Kurt now latches onto his ankle, almost ripping it out of it's socket with an Angle Lock before security rushes the ring, pulling Kurt off of him and slam him face first onto the mat, hand cuffing him! They drag Angle to the outside and towards the side of the ramp, and Kurt does nothing but smirk back into the ring at the bloodied HBK!
