“World’s Greatest” plays over the speakers, signaling the final time that Shelton Benjamin and Nat Taylor will come out to the ring on Smackdown! Benjamin walks out first, with Nat trailing close to his side. Once at ringside, he leaps onto the apron and climbs into the ring, looking out to the crowd who cheer them both loudly.











“I Don’t Suck!” then blasts over the speakers, bringing out the one and the only, Kurt Angle! The Olympic gold medalist makes his way out, stopping at the top of the stage and throws his arms up above his head in time with his pyro. He then turns his neck from side to side before making his way down, climbing up the ring steps and enters the ring with a spin, stopping to stare across at Nat and Shelton with a grin.


Chioda moves Nat to the outside and calls for the bell as Kurt and Shelton stand nose to nose in the middle of the ring, Angle jawing away. Kurt then leans forward and SMACKS Benjamin across the face before backing away with a smirk. He then pulls his straps up and chuckles to himself. Benjamin stands there with a hand on his cheek for a few moments before looking over to Angle in shock, breaking out into a slight grin himself and nods his head. He begins to bounce on his toes and lets his arms hang to the side, getting ready to lock up as the bell sounds to officially start this match!

They circle and move in on one another, locking up to a pop from the crowd! They battle for position, circling around the ring and into the ropes, and then right back into the middle. Kurt quickly goes around Benjamin with a Full Nelson, “WOOOO’ing” as he traps him there. Shelton’s arms begin to shake and he breaks free, going around Angle with one of his own. Kurt then immediately drops down to his knees, taking Benjamin over with a fireman’s carry, but Benjamin goes with the full flip and lands on his feet to a pop from the crowd! Kurt’s eyes grow wide and he charges Shelton, just to be taken over with an arm drag! Benjamin then follows it up with a hip toss, sending Angle crashing to his ass on the other side of the ring! Kurt goes right to his feet, hot from that one, and charges Benjamin. Shelton steps to the side and grabs Kurt by the head, sending him sailing over the top! Kurt, however, lands feet first on the apron, so Shelton drills him in the chin with a standing dropkick that sends him falling into the barricade!

Kurt connects with the barricade and stumbles around towards the ramp, rubbing his chin. He then gets distracted by Nat who talks some trash of her own, allowing Benjamin the opportunity to take a running start and fly OVER the top rope with a cross body, driving Kurt into the steel stage! Benjamin pops right back up to his feet and release a war scream to a roar from the crowd before pulling Angle up, rolling him back into the ring. He then climbs onto the apron and waits for Kurt to stand. Once he does so, he springs up to the ropes and flies off, but Angle catches him and IMMEDIATELY takes his former pupil over with an over the head belly-to-belly suplex!

Now it’s Angle who goes to his feet, receiving a round of boos from the fans as he looks down at Nat, asking her “how you like THAT, baby!” He then moves back over to Benjamin and sends a series of heavy forearm shots to his back as he attempts to pull himself up. He then yanks him up by the waist, going for a German suplex, but Benjamin tucks and rolls forward with a mock victory roll, holding Kurt down for a two count! Right back on their feet, Angle damn near takes Shelton’s head off with a HUGE lariat!

Kurt now scissors Benjamin’s head and shoulders, legally chocking him out. The crowd gets behind Benjamin, chanting “LETS GO SHELTON” as he struggles to free himself, locking his feet in the ropes. Kurt finally releases, but doesn’t roll away until he brings his calf slamming down across Shelton’s face! Benjamin flops around on the mat and away from Angle as Nat cringes. Kurt breaks out into a grin, stalking Shelton and slaps him repeatedly across the back of the head. “I brought you onto Smackdown! you son of a BITCH, and I’LL take you OFF of it!” Kurt then leaps up, going to crunch down onto Shelton’s back, but Shelton turns over onto his back, and the only thing that Angle crunches is his family jewels across Shelton’s knees!

The crowd pops LOUDLY as Angle stumbles around the ring with his knees knocked together! Benjamin goes to his feet and goes to fire Angle across, but he holds on and pulls down into a reverse DDT, slamming the back of Angle’s head into his knee and covers for a two count! Kurt rolls free and into a corner, where Benjamin is right on him with boots to the mid section. He then climbs the ropes and fires away with a series of fists, the crowd counting along to ten with Nat! Shelton then descends and goes to fire him across, but Angle reverses. Shelton goes barreling into the corner and leaps directly to the top, sets his feet, and then flies off with a back flip, landing behind the onrushing Angle! As soon as Kurt turns around, Shelton hooks him for an Exploder T-Bone, but Kurt goes low with an Olympic Slam! However, Benjamin floats over and lands on his feet, going for a boot to the gut that Angle catches. Kurt then swings him around, going for another Olympic Slam attempt, but he leans right into a spin kick by Benjamin who follows it up with a cover for the one, two, TWO!

Kurt rolls free once more to another chorus of boos from the fans. He uses the ropes to pull himself up, and Shelton drills him with a fist to the head. Kurt counters with a knee to the mid section and goes low, taking Benjamin OVER the top rope and to the floor with an Olympic Slam this time! Benjamin hits the outside feet first and goes falling into the barricade. Kurt looks to the outside and shakes his head out before dropping to the mat and rolling to the outside. He pulls Shelton up and drops him chest first across the barricade before rolling him back into the ring. He then mounts the ropes, turning his back to the ring, and the crowd gasps in anticipation as Angle prepares for a patented moonsault! Nat quickly starts to jaw at Angle, catching his attention, and giving Benjamin the time he needs to stop Angle, crotching him up top! Angle’s upper body then falls backwards, and he’s stuck hanging upside down! Shelton then backs into the far corner and charges forward, DRILLING the upside down Angle with a Stinger Splash to an EXPLOSION from the fans!

Kurt’s feet fall free and he drops onto the back of his head on the mat, knocked loopy and out of breath as Benjamin bounces on his toes, all revved up and getting the crowd behind him! He goes over and pulls Kurt to his feet, kicking him in the gut and leans him against the ropes, going to fire him across when Angle somehow spins around him, taking him over with a German suplex! Kurt holds on and musters up the energy to take him over a second time, and then a third, crunching him into the mat to boos from the fans! Angle then goes to his feet and he PULLS DOWN THE STRAPS, completely having turned this match around and stomps up and down on the mat before latching onto the ANGLE LOCK!

Benjamin howls out in pain but quickly counters, rolling forward and sends Kurt racing chest first into the corner! As Kurt stumbles out, Benjamin goes for a boot to the mid section, but Kurt catches it for a second time. This time, Angle swings Benjamin around right away, but learns his lesson and catches the return spin kick with ANOTHER Angle Lock! Shelton buries his face into the mat as Kurt SCREAMS out in pleasure, yelling at Benjamin to “Freakin’ TAP OUT!”

Benjamin tries to battle free and he once AGAIN sends Kurt sailing chest first into the corner, breaking it up! Benjamin rolls away from him, but after a few moments, he realizes that Kurt is stunned there. He pulls himself up and kicks his ankle out, and then races in for another Stinger Splash, but Kurt moves out of the way at the last second, pulling the corner pad with him and Benjamin splashes right into the exposed steel! The crowd then BOOMS with boos as Benjamin rebounds out of the corner, and right into an Olympic Slam! Angle looks down at Benjamin and breaks out into a grin, but rather than go for the cover he goes to his feet, pulling his straps back up, and then back down, and locks Shelton into another Angle Lock!

Benjamin looks to be down and out. Chioda drops down, checking his arms two times before Shelton pushes up, releasing a war scream and lunges for the ropes and gets them! However, Angle REFUSES to release the hold, and Nat has lost it, climbing into the ring and makes a B-line for Angle! Chioda sees her coming and gets in front of her, having to physically hold her back! Meanwhile, the crowd begins to make a LOT of noise as CHARLIE HAAS races down the ramp, jumping onto the apron and grabs Kurt by the head, jumping off and back to the floor, jacking him throat first across the top rope! Angle goes stumbling back and in a circle, right back towards Benjamin who takes him up and over with an Exploder T-Bone suplex and covers as Nat goes to the outside, and Chioda drops down to count the one, two, and THREE count!


“World’s Greatest” blasts over the speakers once more as both Charlie Haas and Nat Taylor slide into the ring, pulling Benjamin to his feet and raising both of his arms to the fans’ approval!

Kurt goes rolling to the outside and falls to his knees, shaking his head out and stumbles up the ramp where he falls onto his ass. Back in the ring, the celebration is on as this is, once and for all, the end of Team Angle and “The World’s Greatest Tag Team” as we know it! Benjamin, Haas, and Nat all share in a group hug as Angle watches on from the ramp, glaring at the happy ending as Smackdown! goes off the air!

~After the show goes off the air, Angle’s anger turns into a smile and he makes his way back to ringside and climbs into the ring, staring across at his three former pupils and calls for a mic. He holds the mic in his hands and attempts to speak two or three times, but gets choked up before finally spitting it out.~


Kurt: “Words can’t explain what I’m feeling at this very moment. Shelton, Charlie, Nat… all I can is… I’m proud of you, thank you, and good luck.”


~The crowd EXPLODES for the comment and break out into an “ANGLE” chant as he lowers the mic and his head, completely red faced and even almost in tears. Nat quickly steps forward, wrapping her arms around Kurt’s neck with a huge embrace, followed by Haas and Benjamin, and even ERIC ANGLE who has appeared from the back for a COMPLETE Team Angle group hug! As the five performers who made this group iconic embrace in the ring, the fans chants’ of “ANGLE! ANGLE! ANGLE!” echo throughout the entire arena!~
