"Evolve" comes on the speakers, sending out the team of Adonis Jordan and Nick Dinsmore. The two collide fists and then walk to the ring area. Dinsmore slides in first under the ropes, followed by Jordan up the ring steps.











“La Résistance” then plays over the speakers for the arrival of René Dupreé and Sylvan Grenier, who are accompanied to the ring by the elegant Marie-Claude.





ONE OF A KIND!







The crowd pops as none other than Mr. Pay-Per-View walks out, Rob Van Dam!









RVD stops and waits on the arrival of his tag team partner, Spanky, who is accompanied by the sultry Miss Jackie! They head partway down the ramp and stop, awaiting their final two partners.









“World’s Greatest” then plays over the speakers to a pop from the crowd as Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin make their way out, joining RVD and Spanky at the bottom of the ramp, and they all slide into the ring as a team, facing off with Evolution and Les Separatistes!


All eight men jaw at one another as referee Charles Robinson takes control early, ordering all but Rob Van Dam and Sylvan Grenier, who won the coin toss for their teams, to the outside. Robinson calls for the bell as outside official Brian Hebner keeps his eyes on the ball. Van Dam and Grenier circle one another, and RVD moves Grenier back with a few teaser kicks before they finally lock-up. Sylvan quickly pulls RVD into a side headlock, gloating as he does so. RVD then shoves out of it and leapfrogs Grenier on the return, waits for him to come charging back, and then drills him with a spin kick to the jaw!

RVD then tags in Spanky, and Spanky quickly leaps into the ring, and as Van Dam takes a shot at his opponents, keeping their attention on him, Spanky cradles Sylvan’s head and runs right up the ropes, JAMMING him into the mat with the Sliced Bread for the one, two, three!

Rene’s eyes bulge out of his head as his partner is quickly eliminated, and he rushes into the ring, going right after Spanky! However, Kendrick ducks him and comes off the ropes with a flying forearm, taking him down! He waits for him to stand, and then leaps forward with a quick Hurricanrana, flipping him over! The crowd is firmly behind Spanky as he stalks in behind the dazed Dupree, but as he goes to hit the ropes, Adonis Jordan pulls the top one down and Spanky goes sailing over and to the outside!

The crowd boos loudly as Adonis and Dinsmore put the hurt on Spanky before rolling him back into the ring. Dupree now quickly hoists Spanky up onto his shoulder and takes a running start, SLAMMING him into the mat with a sitout Powerslam, pulling up on the leg for the one, two, three, evening up the odds!

Rene pops back up to his feet, celebrating the elimination with the French Shuffle! Benjamin then rushes right behind Dupree with a dropkick to the back of the head! Shelton goes on the assault with punches that send Rene reeling. Dupree falls into his own corner, but grabs Benji's leg on the way in, holding him tight. Dinsmore rushes Benjamin from one side and gets met with a punch. Adonis comes from the other and is answered with one for his troubles. Nick goes for a second shot and Benjamin ducks it, watching as he clocks Jordan. Shelton yanks his foot free from Rene and steps on his chest, popping straight up and decking Dinsmore with the backspin from it! Benjamin shuffles out a bit and Dupree charges out and spears him to the canvas. Rene reaches in for a tag to Dinsmore, and Nick comes right out with a kick to Benjamin's midsection. He whips him to the ropes and catches him in a gutwrench backbreaker, keeping him aloft and signaling in for his partner. Adonis climbs to the top rope and comes flying off with a elbow that almost caves in Shelton's chest!

Nick drops him to the mat and yanks back on the leg, getting a one....two....ONLY a 2 count as Van Dam comes in for the breakup! Dinsmore stands up and goes to swing on Charlie, but he's pushed back to his own corner by the ref. Nick tags in Jordan and the Evolution duo go to town on Benjamin. They both hold him aloft and send him into another corner. Adonis backs up, and Dinsmore goes to Irish whip him in. Adonis keeps hold of his arm and reverses, sending Dinsmore in with a body splash. Benjamin leaps up at the last minute to the top rope, leaping off as Dinsmore crunches the corner. Shelton does a forward roll and reaches in to tag Van Dam!

RVD rushes in as a house of fire, drilling Adonis to the canvas. Then answers another to Nick, and hurls him over the top rope. Dupree comes rushing in the ring and is met by Rob with a spin kick that crams him into the mat. RVD pops right up, looks down at Dupree and then to Haas, and then starts to shuffle from side to side, doing the French Tickler dance, pausing after it and doing the thumb points for ROB....VAN....DAM!

Which is all for naught as Dinsmore railroads him from behind, bending him forward and hoisting him aloft in a powerbomb. Adonis comes rushing from the side, cradling his head and they spin RVD to the mat chin first with their tandem move! Adonis drops down on him and cradles back the head and the leg, getting a 1...2....three count on RVD!

Adonis stands up, nudging Dinsmore and signaling to Dupree, who all stare across at the World's Greatest Tag Team. Benjamin pulls himself to his feet on the apron and collects his thoughts with Haas. The two watch RVD roll out of the ring. Benji and Haas shrug to one another and then leap in over the top rope, taking the fight right to their three opponents! They all trade shots back and forth, with Haas taking on both Jordan and Dupree and Benjamin squaring off with Dinsmore. TWGTT then switches opponents and Shelton nails Adonis and Rene, as Haas sends shots to Dinsmore. Nick ducks a punch and hooks around his waist, going for a takeover, but Charlie wraps his foot around and spins around him. Haas gets ready to take him over as Benjamin turns and superkicks Dinsmore in the jaw. Charlie swings him over with a HARD German Suplex that crushes him into the mat, as the ref drops down for the one...two and three count! Adonis falls over and misses the breakup, and gets popped in the stomach by Benjamin.

Shelton then yanks him up to his feet and Irish whips him into the corner. Haas grabs Dupree by the arm and whips him in as well, smashing him into Adonis. Charlie rushes the corner and avalanches Dupree and Jordan then drops down and away as Benjamin goes skying in the air and Blinger splashes them! Shelton gets into a ready stance as Dupree stumbles out and snatches him up and over into a Shelshock T-Bone slam! He then gets up and holds Adonis in a front facelock, as Haas falls atop Dupree and holds him down for a 1....2...and 3 on the count eliminates Les Seperatiste' from contention!

Marie Claude stomps on the outside and huffs, pulling Rene to the floor. Benjamin lets go of Adonis, and TWGTT stare him down. Jordan rubs the back of his head and looks up, seeing he's on his own. He puts his dukes up and is met right with a right hand from Shelton. Benjamin whips him to the ropes and leapfrogs as he's caught in a spinning spinebuster from Haas. Charlie keeps his hands locked and pulls Adonis back up to his feet and holds him aloft, dropping down to one knee with an inverted Atomic Drop! Benjamin runs the ropes and then stops on a dime, turning and superkicking Jordan's head back! Charlie waits for the motion and lets go of him, rolling through and holding his legs for a 1...2..and a THREE count!

The opening match is in the books as Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas have not only survived three other teams, but dominated in doing so!
