“Live for the Moment” blasts over the speakers as the former champions, and now number one contenders appear, Mattitude! Hardy walks out in front of the pack, throwing the V1 sign up above his head, followed out by Sabin, and finally, with Test walking methodically in the back. The Toronto fans boo the hometown Test as he follows his team into the ring, with hardy climbing the second ropes, holding the V1 sign above his head proudly.










“World’s Greatest” then sounds over the speakers as the three-time and current champions appear, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin! Both champions seem to be very banged up from last week’s sneak attack on Raw, and they both seem to be ready for war as they come out without their manager, Nat Taylor.


They slide into the ring, dropping the tag belts to the floor as they do so, and go right to work! However, Test stands in front of his team, calling the champions on, and they oblige, running him right over in hot pursuit of the challengers!

Both Hardy and Sabin drop down to the floor, turning their backs to the ring, grinning about having Test do their dirty work for them. However, Haas slides out after them, knocking their heads together! As both Hardy and Sabin wobble in place, Benjamin comes flying off the top rope with a double cross body, taking them both back first to the outside floor!

The crowd is firmly behind the champions as Haas rolls Hardy into the ring, following him in and meets him in the corner with repeated shoulder blocks. He then goes to fire him across, but Matt reverses the Irish whip and pauses, tapping his head with a nod. However, Haas leaps to the second ropes and comes flying back off of them with a flying forearm, taking him back first to the mat and covers for a two count!

Charlie then pulls Matt back up with an arm bar and tags in Benjamin, and Shelton then springs himself over the top rope and into the ring with a guillotine to Hardy’s arm, driving it into the mat and goes for another cover, getting another two-count!

The champions are rolling here as Hardy begs off in a corner, and as soon as Benjamin comes in after him, he grabs him by the waist band and pulls him chest first into the corner pads, and then makes the tag in to Sabin. Future hurries into the ring, decking Benjamin with right hands before leaning him against the ropes and firing him across, ducking his head. Benjamin then leaps twice as high over Sabin and hits the far side ropes, leapfrogs him again, comes off the other side and hits a BEAUTIFUL standing dropkick to Future’s jaw, getting another two-count!

Future quickly rebounds back up to his feet and walks into a hip toss; however, he does a full flip and lands on his feet, drills Benjamin with a knee to the mid section, and then DRIVES him face first into the mat with a fame-ass-er!

Chris now tags in Hardy, and Matt hurries into the ring, slapping Shelton upside the head. He pulls him up and connects with a few right hands before firing him across, catching him with a lightning fast roaring elbow as he returns. V1 then follows it up with a rolling elbow and covers for a two count. Hardy pulls him up by the head and tags in Sabin, and then distracts the ref as Future uses the tag rope to choke the life out of the champion! As Shelton leans his back in the corner, Future climbs up to the top and comes flipping off with a blockbuster, DRIVING Benjamin face first into the mat and covers for a one, two, TWO! Benjamin kicks out!

Haas begins to cheer his partner on, getting the crowd behind him as they chant “LETS GO SHELTON! LETS GO SHELTON!” Future ignores the chant and pulls Shelton into a snap suplex, pops his hips, holding on and rolls through once more, this time going for a T-Bone, hitting dead on! Future now holds on one final time and hoists Benjamin into the air for the Future Shock, but Shelton squirms free and lands behind him, and then lunges into Mattitude’s corner, knocking Hardy off the apron and onto Test on the outside!

Future now rushes Shelton from behind, but Benjamin springs up onto the top rope and does a back flip back into the ring, avoiding Sabin completely and lands on his feet, and then makes the diving tag to Haas! The crowd pops LOUDLY as Charlie races into the ring, ducking around Future and takes him over with a German suplex! He then races towards the ropes with a baseball slide, knocking Hardy into Test again!

Back in the ring, Future comes up and goes for a quick Hurricanrana out of nowhere, but Haas counters it and jams him into the mat with a Powerbomb that flips him upside down, and then locks in the Haas of Pain!!

The crowd is going WILD as Sabin screams out in pain, and Benjamin then comes racing over and leaps to the top rope, flying off with a flipping Senton onto Test on the outside! Meanwhile, Hardy pulls himself together and hurries into the ring, putting a boot to Haas’ neck and lifts him to his feet, going for the Twist of Fate! However, Charlie shoves out of it, and as V1 comes back off the ropes, Haas takes him over with a backdrop, right into Sabin’s arms as he stood up!

However, Future can’t hold his partner up and falls backwards, dropping Matt with a stungun across the top rope! Charlie the drills Sabin and knocks him to the outside, and then quickly pulls up on Hardy’s legs as Benjamin comes racing back into the ring, leapfrogging him and lands with all of his weight across Hardy’s back! As V1 rebounds off the ropes, Haas grabs his waist from behind as Shelton comes in with a Shuffle kick, drilling Matt on the chin, and Haas uses the momentum to take him over with a German suplex, bridging up for the one, two, TWO! Test pulls the official out of the ring!

As the ref shouts at Test, ejecting him from ringside, Sabin come pulls Benjamin to the outside and tosses him shoulder first into the ring steps, and then slides into the ring, tag title in hand, and he BLASTS Haas across the head with it!

The fans are booing loudly as Test finally makes his way to the back, allowing the official to get back into the ring, and after a few moments, Hardy lays an arm across Charlie’s chest for the one, two, TWO! Haas kicks out to a pop from the crowd!

Matt can’t believe it as he crawls to his corner, making to tag back in to Sabin! Future quickly climbs to the top rope and measures the still laid out Charlie Haas, and then he comes flying off with the Shooting Star Press, but Charlie rolls out of the way!

The crowd pops once more as Sabin goes face first into the mat, knocked out! This now allows Haas to crawls towards his corner to Shelton Benjamin, who has just pulled himself together. However, Hardy reaches into the ring and slaps Future across the shoulder, tagging himself in. He races towards Haas and interrupts his momentum, pulling him to his feet and goes for a Side Effect, but Haas breaks free with back elbows to the head, and then makes the blind tag in to Benjamin!

As Hardy back steps and comes forward, Haas lifts him high into the air bear hug style and holds him there as Benjamin comes flying off the top rope with a sitout clothesline, JAMMING V1 into the mat! Benjamin then hooks the leg, and the official counts the one, two, three!


“World’s Greatest” blasts over the speakers as Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin have once again successfully defended their tag team championships! They collect their titles and roll to the outside, sharing a hug as they have defeated Mattitude in SummerSlam’s opening match!
