: i wince at the remarks shot between the two girls, causing me to glance away, one hand pressed against my temple in effort to calm my desire to butt in. turning back to the group, i absently fiddle with the hem of my ski cap, deciding i didn't exactly feel like making the trip over to the place where my coat was to take it off. my irish accent seeping through my every word, i sigh and attempt to begin a different conversation , keeping my voice in it's natural perkiness :

: time for a subject change, eh? aye, so, you're spanish! bloody interesting heritage, that is. i'm irish. nothing too new o' that. spent a long time in scotland though, that was quite the sight. picked up on a lot of the saying, wouldn't you know. there's not too many scottish or irish people here, are there?

: my voice keeping a cheerful edge, i flash a white grin at the group, curling my lips back softly:

: usually there's a whole ruddy plague of us running around!

: chuckling happilly at my comment, i glance around the group of people with hope they were ready to move on from their unnerving previous conversation . .
