I am asking any and all rural carriers in the state of Alabama to please consider voting for me and my wife Sonia for the position of delegates to the next national rural carriers convention. I have been a regular carrier for three years now. I also served as an rca for nine years in various offices. I have belonged to the association for as many years. I have numerous ideas that I believe would be beneficial to the rural craft in general. I am very interested in the rural PAC organization. I also would like to see an increased presence for our national web site. I feel that information is power and the faster that we get it the better. I would also like to see a retirees corner on the national site. What about the possibility of a somewhat interactive rural magazine? I realize that cost limitations are present, but, any little idea would be a leap foreward. There are many avenues that we could feasibly explore and possibly come up with something great. Dont you agree? I also think that membership recrutiment is essential for our group. I would like to see a committee of like minded persons get together and brainstorm the possibilities concerning recruitment. I am also open to the idea of one man one vote for national officers. We could still elect and send delegates to national. I just feel that the act of allowing rural carriers the trustworthy position of electors (both nationals and delegates) would be more inclusive and attract more interaction. This could be the thing for us that has been so elusive: membership participation. Thank you. Jim"
