Chas Hubbard-you cretin!

You are a moron. Lets look at the facts: You are a moron

"My biggest gripe is that you feel "lower class" players receive different treatment to the others, thats bollocks" They definitely do. I am not saying if you are working class you will never get anywhere. Once you get into the county system you are safe. You've made it-breathe a sigh of relief. Some people will make it some won't. But getting there is a different matter. The players of the future are not created in counties-they are created in school playgrounds and on street corners. Can we rely on our system to transport these players into county teams? No.

Question- Would I have played cricket and made it into county trials and onto a tour of Barbados if I had not gone to a Kings School (a middle class school)? Would I have still made it if I had gone to St Hugh's (a working class school)? Think about it you moron.

If what you are saying is true then if I had gone to St Hugh's then I still would have made it through the system. Name one person from any school in our area apart from Kings that made it into the county team? Does this mean you can only be good at cricket if you get over 330 in an exam at 11 years old? Could it be that people only made it in from Kings and no where else because that was the only local place where cricket was bred with the middle class. Could it be that I only managed to get county trials was because I sneaked my way into a middle class environment and associated myself with those who had the power?

Ironically enough when I did get county trials it was not even because I earned them outright on merit -it was because Dan Woodhead (ring any bells?) went and got me an application form off the person in power! Does this sound like a system that is suiting the talented. Or does it sound like a system that must be played like a game to get anywhere?

Adversely lets look at Barbados-even though there will always be a small element of it, there is no major class system. From your own eyes 'Charles' did the school Bajans went to appear to make a difference to success? I recall that the best players on the Island (as seen in the Barbados representative team that skittled you for a duck for the second of your four failures running) came from a massive number of different schools. Foundation, Combomere, Colleridge and Parry (long narrow pitch) and Harrison among many others. Did where the children get educated seem to make any apparent difference to representation? Did it fuck.

I have a very simple, easily testable and effective way to prove my point; Lets create a time machine and go back in time and force the full current England Test team to go through secondary education at St Hugh's School. There are only two criteria. They MUST join The Midget Gang AND they MUST become heroin addicts. If they subsequently still make it into test players then you are right Hubbard- no matter what class you are in, or what upbringing you have our cricket system will always rescue talent and treat it accordingly.

Who is more likely to give a rounded opinion on playing cricket and growing up in a working class environment-someone who did play cricket and grow up in a working class environment? Or someone who did not and only saw things from a middle class point of view? One's me and one's you Hubbard. In all respects you proved my point- After making an honest point about something I witnessed first hand suddenly you (a middle class 'batsman') is there to tell me how wrong I was about something that only I witnessed first hand. Did you grow up in the working classes Hubbard? Mrs 'Marks and Spencers' mum may say otherwise.

ps. Looking forward to being 'knocked out the next time you see me.' How very ironically 'working class' of you. Its a pleasure to know that living in Grantham ALL OF YOUR LIFE has engineered your evolutionary circle to its fullest extent. Carry on living there. Enjoy it. Savour it.

One final thought for you Francis-George..........................................................Single Wicket Competition!
