The traveler, weary from his journey, stops at a small waterfall to quench his thirst. Energy sapped, he falls to his knees and plunges his face through the crystalline surface. His throat is parched from the many days of travel and lack of water, the liquid is clear and refreshing, easily regenerating the lost stamina. Satiated, he rose from his prostrate position and allowed the excess liquid to dribble down his face and neck. Looking off into the distance, he sees a strange sight lying just ahead. It could just be his delirium from the heat taunting his mind, but it seemed that two cities lay before him. However, they weren't any plain-jane cities; certainly not humanistic in any form. Arising from the left was a veil of smoke, indicating that it was being put through hell. Little did he know that it actually was hell on earth. To the right, the populace was embraced by a soft glow of yellow light. Seemed this was the typical good versus evil situation. Where to go? To the right and be sweet and innocent? Or to the left and live freely amongst a sinful group? The choice was left to those that drifted nearby. Either way, they would become one of their numbers. No being was permitted to pass on by; once they say the twin cities, they were stuck. Oh, did I mention that these weren't your everyday metropolises? The one irregularity is that the pair are visible only to the equine eye. No human can set foot upon this land and see what surrounds them. Long before our time, a magician who could speak with the quadrupeds enclosed this area with magical protection so that no human could see the horses that dwelled within. His actions were noble, but came with a hitch. From that day forward, only those of his blood could view the equine cities. Until now, none had bothered to disturb their ancestor's creation.. but now a pair of twins descended from the magician ruled each city. They were once inseperable, forever bound by kinship. But a strange twist of fate tore them apart, driving a wedge permanently between the two. The blackhearted took over one and transformed it into a hellhole for those that took pleasure in sadism. Her adversary, meanwhile, rallied the horses that were still inhabited by innocence and began life in the other city. Now the two go at it, using their equine followers as pawns in a chess battle. Raids go back and forth, one force invading the other, capturing their enemy and attempting to convert them. Few were successful, but some managed to reach through to the contrasting hearts of their foe. The traveler stood before the two cities, contemplating his future. He could turn down one path and find himself engulfed in darkness or travel the other and ally himself with the chaste. The choice was his. And now, it's yours.. Or are you light? Do you heed Avarice and Fiore? Or Kaguya and Rainmaker? Give it a go. Find your way.
