Subject: Janis Joplin - I guess that's why they call it the blues

I never knew Janis, never got a chance to meet her. I was born in 1964, in Canada, but I always loved Janis and her music. I loved what she stood for, what her whole generation of anti-establishment hippies, stood for: individual freedom and, above all else, peace. Her music brought the blues back into rock. The blues should never have left rock; and, when it did, rock died. To Janis, wherever you are, I love you and your music, and listen to it all the time.

James
