Glad to be back. Hope you're enjoying your summer reprieve from tutoring the girls and getting lots of fun stuff done outside.
I wanted to tell you I'm reading the story of Luke, written by the guys who did the Left Behind series. (Did you read that series? I started it, but it seemed they were using an awful lot of words to say the same story in each book, so I lost interest.) This book is pretty interesting. It's part of a series called The Jesus Chronicles. I just happened to see it on the bargain table at Barnes and Noble and picked it up.

I have seen part of the series on film. It is basically ok but they use a lot of literary license to make the films. There is quite a bit of "gap filling" as I suppose is necessary to make a narrative. The series (books and films" have caused quite a number people to reflect on the end times and that,I think, is good.

There will of necessity be a lot of conjecture with Luke as he wrote of Jesus and of the work and life of Paul in the Book of Acts. At least it is believed by most that Luke authored Acts.

It is believed that "Luke the physician" accompanied Paul on much of his journeys.

I hope you enjoy the read. Again, good to see you back.

I'll let you know how I liked it when I've finished.
