Hillbilly will tell us that with the guarantee of salvation to all who believe we don't have to be concerned with being worthy. I just know that I don't measure up in so many ways. Must work on that.

The guarantee of salvation does not come with strings attached
BUT, those who are saved are "new creatures"

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is. a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

We will never be worthy even if we could live above sin but we are "accepted in the beloved" (Eph. 1:6-7)because the blood of Jesus has been applied to us as believers.

Therefore we do our best not to sin and when we slip up we repent and ask for forgiveness.

1 John 1:9-10 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

And I do believe I was given a clean slate. I just know that I have squandered many opportunities to be more worthy of this gift. I need to get closer to Him.
