Genesis 21:1-3 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

Beginning with chapter 21 and the life of Isaac we will start seeing explicit prophecy in typology to a greater extent than in the first 20 chapters. This is not to say there hasn't been a lot of prophetic typology in the previous chapters but the typology beginning with Isaac will go into greater detail than in the earlier chapters. We can find the blood atonement pictured from the beginning with the slaying animals to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve. Abel's blood sacrifice and Cain's vegetable offering shows the necessity of the blood offering for sin. (Heb. 9:22-28) We can find the rapture foreshadowed in Enoch being "translated that he should not see death." (Heb. 11:5) We can find in Noah and his experience a type of tribulation with him and his family going through that time of trouble in a sealed state just as the servants of God are sealed from harm in Revelation chapter 7. We can find a type of those who will go through the tribulation un-sealed in the life of Lot and his family. Lot's wife looks back and dies and had Lot or his daughters disobeyed God they too would have died. Abraham going into Egypt foreshadows the Israelites in Egypt. It also prophecies of Jesus going into Egypt and being called out. (Matt. 2:15, Hosea 11:1).

The year is 2048 reckoning from the chronology as given to us in the Bible from the creation. It will be around 1950 more years to the coming of the seed that Isaac is such a foreshadowing of.

Isaac's birth is a miraculous birth in that Sarah is ninety years old when Isaac is born. God had to return to to the fertile condition of a young woman. She had long ago gone through menopause and without God directly changing her should would never have conceived. Mary had the Holy Ghost to overshadow her and she became pregnant through a miracle of God.

Isaac was conceived by a father in his old age. Abraham was 100 when Isaac was born. Jesus' Father was the Ancient of Days. While God has no age He has existed always from eternity past. Isaac's name means laughter and his name was given because of the laughter of doubt from Sarah when she heard God tell Abraham that she was to become the mother of a son. The word for laughter here is a Hebrew word that means to laugh in scorn or derision or jest. It brings to mind the mocking of Jesus as they laughed at him and mocked him throughout much of His life and then at His death on the cross. The name then was not a name of joyful laughing but one of doubt.

It is evident that God is in control of all for Isaac is born "at the set time of which God had spoken to him" (Abraham). Jesus was born "in the fulness of time" (Gal. 4:4) Everything God does is in His timetable and on His schedule. From the creation in Genesis 1 to the New Heaven and New Earth in Rev. 21 every thing is on schedule.

"IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME"... just five words with such incredible meaning. Each of us is praying, sometimes we know not what for, knowing God will listen, and answer, "in the fullness of time". What will be "in the fullness of time" for our nation? With our new president tearing down the military and doing away with many of our defense capabilities would a "RED DAWN" scenario be totlly out of line? Hardly!! Would an even more shocking event be likely? As despicable as our society has become, Sodom and Gomorrah are not looking quite so evil and could we be due for a bit of Godly come-uppance? We know God has His own timetable and He is in charge of everything. However, just how much leeway has he given to satan to work his evil in the land? Job lost everything and he still would not turn from God. I hope I have the strength of Job when the push comes to shove time.

I hope I have the strength of Job when the push comes to shove time. Me too; however, I am old and maybe He will take me home before that happens. For some reason though I don't think so because things are happening so fast...actually daily....that it should raise everyone's hackles and radar screen but, for now at least, God is silent. Let's hope and pray that His silence is just a prelude to His letting the current U.S. government know who's in charge.

at the fulness of time concerning the translation of the saints and the beginning of the tribulation.

Whether hard persecution comes to us beforehand remains to be seen. It is something God has put in His own hands.

The advantage we have is that we do not have to depend on ourselves for strength and power to resist. God has freely given to us the means of accessing that power and stedfastness.

We have the Spirit of God indwelling and enabling us and no others can say that. Our strength is to surrender to that Spirit and let it control our actions. Truly we are blessed and are winners either way.
