Subject: The final victory

Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

It is because of the willing obedience of Jesus that He is so highly exalted and given dominion over all things. In obedience to the Father the God of glory takes on the flesh of man, his creation, and walks toward the cross for 33 !/2 years that we might have a way to reconciliation with God. The name of Jesus means Saviour and is above every name and all of His creation will one day bow and proclaim Him both Lord and God. (Jn. 20:28)

The implication of verse 10 is that there are three categories that will bow. . 1. Heaven. The angels will, with the host of heaven, gladly bow before this Jesus. Before this God they have served since creation, they will prostrate themselves again and again. 2. All of God's children that are with Him will joyously bow. Those who died before the law, those who died in the period of the law and those who died or were raptured under the age of grace through faith will joyously and reverently bow to their Redeemer, King and God. 3. The last group that will bow are the lost of all ages.

I don't know in what order the lost will bow but I like to think that first those who died before the flood will come forth and bow remembering the times of their visitations from God and their wasted opportunities.

Next will come those from Noah to the law. They too will remember wasted and shunned opportunities to bow in their mortal life. They had the witness of the flood and the destruction from God because of sin. They will remember and sorrowfully bow.

Next will come those under the law that rejected the law of God and the sacrifice of blood for their sins. They will remember all the gods they put before the true God and fall wailing before this Lamb of God that offered to take their sins but was rejected.

Next will come those who lived under the Church age who had the witness and testimony of the completed Word of God. They will remember the preachers and witnesses who continually tried to point them to Jesus. They will remember the times they mocked and laughed at these simple fools who were stupid enough to believe in a God that was once in the heavens and came to earth in the form of a man. They will remember the times they scoffed at a creation and embraced a monkey-man named Charles Darwin. Somewhere in that group will be that very man and he will admit to being a total fool. He and they will bow in their fear and through their tears as they face their fate.

Then will come the angels that dared to think another created heavenly being could be God. They will remember the time they followed a Cherub called Lucifer and rejected God. Down they will go before the one they fought against for millennia. They will call him LORD!

Finally will come the most loathsome of all of God's creation. Trembling and in great humility the one who dared to set himself as God and take God's creation from God. Through his mind will race the events he thought were triumphs. He will remember Adam and Eve. He will remember the perverted lust he introduced to mankind. He will remember the billions that have died because of his rebellion against the one he is cowering before. He will look up into the eyes of the one he brought a cruel death to and fear unlike he has ever known will grip him. He will not be able to stare into those eyes as a flame of fire but he will drop his head and then lower his body to his knees and the words will pour forth from his mouth. YOU ARE LORD!. At that time what had been a hushed silence will explode into a joyous jubilee of shouting and praising God for his victory over this one who and brought such misery and suffering to so many. Heaven will burst forth into singing as the voices of the redeem burst forth into singing WORTHY IS THE LAMB!.

At this exultation the God and Father of us all along with the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's will bask in their glory and honor heaped on them from their beloved children and faithful heavenly creation. It will possibly be the grandest moment of all eternity. The victory and expunging of everything sinful from heaven and earth. What a glorious vision.

...had a lot of things to catch up on, since I'd been gone 18 of the first 21 days in October. I'm home to stay for awhile, now. 8-)
