Could you give me some suggestions for how to take inventory? I have a lot to think about and would like to do so soon. Thank you Hillbilly. I enjoyed this lesson too.

Caren, there is only one way I know of to take inventory concerning spiritual matters. When I say spiritual matters I am including how your inward person that is born again controls or relates to the outward person that everyone sees and knows.

The most important aspect when examining your will against God's will is get alone with God. Pray! Earnest prayer always yields results. This is imperative. You must look inwardly and outwardly to expose your desires for yourself and God's desires for you.

This is not always easy but you will no have a true and accurate accounting unless you do this.

There are probably places where you have felt closest to God. I would go there. I would submit myself to God and ask him to reveal my hidden desires as well as my open desires. Ask Him to give you understanding of what is good for me and what might be harmful. Ask Him to reveal anything unpleasing to Him. If you sincerely and honestly do this God will show you He desires for you and from you.

You may or may not receive what you would like but live close to God you must surrender to His will in these matters you are wrestling with.

I will pray for God to give answer to you and reveal Himself to you concerning these matters.

God bless and may your inventory bring you untold blessings.

In the Lord's love
Dwight

Charlie and I went to a great Southern Gospel weekend south of here and many of the people performing gave their personal testimonies and one of them, Gerald Wolfe, who used to play keyboard for the Cathedrals, really touched me. He was talking about trust--"Do you trust God? Do you take everything to God? Do you totally live for God?" I knew I fall short of that and it has made me want to take inventory, too.
What a wonderful weekend. One of the things Catholics miss out on in our church is the great singing by the congregation. It was glorious to sit there and sing along with the crowd all the great old Gospel favorites. Charlie and I felt truly blessed.

The Cathedrals are probably my all time favorite group. They had great quality in both their music and their testimonies.

In fact as I write this I am listening to "In His Presence" by the Cathedrals. Awesome.

Mark Trammell hasn't lost his voice, and his testimony was still strong. What a great night it was! 8-)
