Ezekiel 14:13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
While these words were delivered to Israel through the prophet Ezekiel and were specific to Jerusalem and Judea that stand as a stern warning to any country God has blessed with wealth and abundance. The verse is excerpted from Ezekiel 14:-21. In these 8 verses God sets forth the steps He will take to punish Israel for their "grievous" trespasses. It would behoove anyone who is interested in what is taking place across the world in this present age to also read Leviticus chapter 26.
All across the land people are asking; "What has happened to America?" "What has happened to the world?" "Everything is turned upside down and it looks like an insane asylum with the inmates in charge."
Let me venture to answer the questions in as simple a way as I can. America and the world have forgotten God and have turned against Him!. Here in America it is getting where you can't openly be a Christian without ridicule and rebuke. You can't speak out against the homosexuals or you will be persecuted and receive death threats. If you don't believe me just ask former CEO of Mozilla, Brendan Eich, who was forced out because he had supported Proposition 8 in California, which was the proposition against homosexual marriage. Americas leaders as well as most of the world have embraced homosexuality and God will not put up with this abomination. Judgment is falling.
Abortion rampant, drugs rampant, alcohol consumption rampant, corrupt government, rampant! Now how long do you think God is going to put up with this?
Every storm, earthquake, volcano, wildfire, drouth, and even the violence that is growing by leaps and bounds is blamed on "global warming"! One of the biggest, if not the biggest, hoaxes foisted on the world is a fairy tale myth invented to make the inventors rich and impoverish the United States. Folks, there is coming a day when global warming will be true (Rev. 16:8-9, Isaiah 30:26) but God will send it and it won't be because of too much carbon dioxide! The real global warming will be sent because of SIN!
We currently have bad drought hitting out west. We had a bad drought in the Atlanta area a couple of years ago. They are not caused by global warming. One of the first punishments on a land, country or nation is that God cuts off the water. In the days of Ahab king of Israel God cut the rain off for 3 1/2 years! (James 5:17) Deuteronomy 11:16-17 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17 And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you. (also 2 Sam. 1:21, 1 Kings 8:35, 2 Chron. 7:13, Isa. 5:6, Jer. 3:3, Zech 14:17)
God can, will and has brought nations down simply by cutting off the rain. It does not take long until there is famine, starvation and then death. God moved Israel into Egypt by sending drought to all the the lands around Canaan. (Gen. chapters 41-45)
While God uses drought He also uses armies and disease. A person cannot read the history of the world through the lens of the Bible without realizing how God has used enemies to punish nations. Israel and Judah both went into captivity to enemies specifically raised up by God for that purpose. The ten northern tribes went into captivity by Assyria. Judea (Judah and Benjamin) were captured and exiled to Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar. Presently Islam, under the pagan god Allah is growing by leaps and bounds and is on the move. Look at how many nations are infected by the disease of Islam. Russia, China, Great Britain, the U.S. all the Middle East including Israel, France, the Netherlands etc. are all having problems as Mosques are being built right and left. Who can forget the Twin Towers on 9/11/2001. Who doesn't know of the movement in every land infected by this plague to instill Sharia Law. How would you ladies like to be under Sharia Law?
Do I believe all of this is the judgment of God falling on America and the world? I sure do! God has sent warning after warning and they have all gone unheeded. Judgment has started and it will get worse and worse if we don't repent and turn back to God and live like we belong to Him. Listen!!! God has offered us unlimited blessings through Jesus Christ. Think for a minute. The very God of glory took on flesh that He might come and die for the sin of the world. All that He asks of us after salvation is to love Him and live for Him. Is that too much to ask from the One who paid such a horrible price that we might live?
God offered us the blessings but promised us the curse if we turned our backs on Him and followed our own ways. We have chosen the latter. What do you think the righteous Judge is going to do? He is going to send judgment and I believe it has already started! The judgment categories are given in Ezekiel 14:21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Three of the four don't give any problem but the "noisome beast" is not clear at all. Jerusalem is the target of God's judgments and it is historical fact as to the famine, pestilence and the sword that fell on Jerusalem as she was defeated and the Jews carried into Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar's army. Perhaps, while we think of animals like lions, it may not be anything like it at all. The root meaning of the Hebrew translated as noisome is "bad" or "evil". I have never read of any beasts that went through Israel destroying man and beast. We can however find in prophecy something that could relate to this. Daniel 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. Daniel 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. Nebuchadnezzar then would fit as a description of a "noisome beast" as well as Shalmaneser, king of Assyria who took Israel into captivity in Assyria . Taking this possibility we can find a match to Ezekiel 14:21 in Revelation 6:2-8. The white horse rider of Rev. 6:2 would be a noisome beast by description as the rider is the false Christ or anti-Christ.
This rider as well as the other three riders match the famine, pestilence, war and noisome beast that God sends as judgment on wicked nations.
Make no mistake. What is going on in the world today is a precursor of what is coming during the time when God pours out His judgments on the entire earth. Today while we see the beginnings of God's judgments there is still time to repent. Jeremiah 18:7-8 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; 8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
All of God's children should be praying earnestly for Him to raise up strong Christian leaders to turn this nation back to God and we as His children should be speaking out against the evil that has put this nation in it's grip.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
