RACHEL WEEPING
Matthew 2:18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
All too often we hear the reports of other brutal and senseless killings and we are left at a loss for understanding at what is going on. We see the prophesies unfolding in front of our eyes and we wonder; "How much worse and how much longer until Jesus returns?" The above verse should cause us to realize the brutality and murder that we witnessed just a few short days ago in Connecticut is nothing new. Herod, in a rage, ordered the murder of all male children under 2 years old in and around Bethlehem to be slaughtered. Mothers and Dads were left weeping bitterly for their beloved babies.
1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: Satan has been on a rampage since the Garden of Eden. Abel was only the first of millions. Satan gets evil delight in hurting. He is the very opposite of God as God is the giver of life and Satan the destroyer of life. Physical and spiritual. God is love and Satan is hate. That is the black and white truth with no middle ground.
We cannot know what demons were living in the head of the young man who went on his murderous rampage starting with his very own mother. Those of us who love God and love others cannot comprehend the blackness that lurks in evil minds so when we say we just don't understand it we should thank God that we are so far removed from that mentality that we can't comprehend it. We feel devastated by the news of these young children so brutally murdered yet largely have grown calous to the millions of unborn torn and cut from their mother's wombs. Tell me the difference if you can.
2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. Can a more awful truth be stated that is so evident today? We look around us and see this prophecy has come to life and begat wings. Evil begets evil and the offspring is a monster. How we wish we could wake up to find it is only a bad dream but that is not the case. We are in the time just before the return of our Lord and we have been warned.
2 Timothy 3:1-4 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Listed below are a few of the more deadly mass killings. The first four are with guns. The last was with bombs placed under a school and then in the truck the killer was driving. He died with the rest he killed. I have omitted terrorist attacks although they are very much part of the evil of this day.
Virginia Tech, 2007: 33 dead.
Newtown, Connecticut, 2012: 28 dead.
University of Texas, 1966: 16 dead.
Columbine, Colorado, 1999: 15 dead.
Bath Township, Michigan, 1927 45 dead by planted explosive and car bomb.
Regardless of the weapons used whether swords by the order of the ruler or guns and bombs (Oklahoma City, Bath Township etc) or planes in the twin towers the results are the same. Many innocents die at the hands of evil people.
People search for answers and there will be no answers outside turning to God with all our hearts. People search for peace but the Word of God says "there is no peace".(Jer.6:14)
Officials look for causes and yet they will accept nothing that contradicts their own preconceived ideas. School children are under attack and men wonder why God allows it never thinking it might be because God has been kicked out of the public school system and the institutions of our land. No prayer, no religious symbols, no reading or quoting the Bible. Is it any wonder that our schools as a whole are in the shape they are in and the ones committing the present crimes are products of our school systems. Our society today is largely a result of our education system and values taught.
Our nation is on the brink and will go over the edge if we don't return to our roots and our roots are planted inthe soil of a nation founded on the precepts of the God of Creation. Deuteronomy 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The choice is ours. Do we continue down this path of destruction or do we repent and turn back to the God of our founding? The choice is ours and may God have mercy on us!
