The trouble is getting people to listen so that the Holy Spirit can reach them. The time you are speaking of is long gone and preachers are having to compete with every form of entertainment imaginable. The attention span of most people is 20 minutes or less unless it is on the big screen and packed with action. About the only other exception I can think of is cell phones and I-pads and the like. I know people that start going through withdrawal if they aren't testing, speaking or listening on one. It's crazy.

People, lost and saved, feared God in the time you mention. Almost no one fears God any more.

The day will soon come this will no longer be true and they will be hiding in the caves and anywhere they can to escape the judgment of God. Then they will fear but it will be too late.
