In reply to: dori 's message, "I guess ALL humbling experiences are for our own good" on 08:58:24 09/07/11 Wed

Many times God will do it for us. The Bible is plain that we are to be a humble people.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

1 Peter 5:5-7 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

As well He should! Sometimes it takes a humbling experience for us to put our lives in perspective and to realize we are nothing without God. I quite often forget to go to the Lord when I'm troubled, but when I finally remember my priorities and put it in God's hands, such a feeling of peace envelopes me. And he takes care of me in giving me strength and knowledge that I'm in his protective arms. My prayer is to one day get to the point where I take EVERY thing to God. Please pray for me, Hillbilly, that it happens sooner rather than later, will you?

And it looks like I'm going to have to go and find that stinker, Connie, again. LOL!
