Do you ever go back to the archived pages and read? I came across a couple of the nicest conversations with Julie on pages 9 and 10 (they date clear back to 2008), and she didn't seem to mind the political talk then. I wish I knew why she left. I got rid of Granny, thinking that would help, but it didn't seem to. I wrote her last year and asked if she was okay and she assured me she was fine and I hadn't done anything wrong.
In one conversation, there were Hillbilly, Connie, Julie, Kristy, Bammy and me. I am going to find the exact post and let you know where to find it.

I could be wrong but I think there are a few reasons for the lack of interest here. 1. Face Book and Twitter 2. Many have specific things in the Bible they are interested in and get bored by the rest. 3. Lack of input from those who read.

Discussion (without degenerating into an argument) is vital to learning. I cannot believe everyone one who reads the things I have posted agrees 100% and when there is doubt it needs to be and should be brought to the board for further discussion. There always should be room for disagreement as long as it remains respectful. I certainly am not against being challenged in my belief's. What I find unacceptable is the constant bickering and arguing that is so prevalent on the old boards we came from. I would have left all of it in my rear view mirror if you, Dori, had not invited me here to share my teaching. For that I humbly thank you.

Just my thoughts.

Everybody is looking for the sound bites and the quick fix, aren't they? I guess that's why I really needed this place. And the people who've come and gone felt the peace here. But other interest come along and soon they forget. I know quite a few have had lifestyle changes and family tragedies they've dealt with, and maybe felt estranged from ALL of the internet doings, not just here.
That's okay, though, HB. I have learned so much from you, and have enjoyed everything you've written--even the few things I didn't understand. I have appreciated your patience with me and your willingness to continue to an empty house. I wrote to Julie again, asking her to grace us every now and then with her presence. And Connie tries, but is easily distracted by her avid interest in politics. BamBob lost his PC twice and has to drive a bus during the day and just doesn't get on much when he has spare time. Bilbo has had serious health issues and reads at many places when he's on--just doesn't write. Kristy and MAtt broke up and I think Kristy's heart was broken. Gerry has asked to come back, but when I gave the okay, hasn't shown the interest. Don't know what happened to Sim and Ghostie. I do see Ghostie every so often on Facebook on some gun issues. Marge came for awhile, but had family and health issues and then started going back to school and got very busy. Granny was too argumentative, and I asked her to leave for everyone else's sakes. Margaret, Jeanette, Sandy and Char are way too outspoken and full of their own take on scripture to be much interested in reading what someone else thinks.
So that leaves you and me, Hillbilly. I hope one little lost lonely soul is enough for you to feel you are wisely spending your valuable time on. I am loving the Genesis study and look forward to maybe a side study on Joseph one day. *-)

If someone gets something out of it and I can be of help then it is worth it to me.

I will try spend a little extra time on Joseph when we get there. It is not far down the road. We are well over half way through Genesis and the end is full of end time prophecy through the life of Joseph.

It's like it is a whole different book when you bring out all these details I never noticed before. I'll be patient for Joseph... grin

I never use Facebook or Twitter. I do post at Potpourri frequently and, lately, less and less here. Don't know why but I'm not on my computer as much as I used to be. I don't know if you're familiar with Glenn Beck but he has his own TV station, GBTV, and is putting on some excellent shows and one that I thoroughly enjoyed was the one from Israel. He is speaking out very strongly in favor of the Jews and Israel which is dear to my heart. I subscribed to GBTV and watch his shows. He is a Mormon but his comments are strictly from the Bible and it's teachings. He never mentions the Mormon church per se.

with Beck. I have seen him on t.v. some and do agree with most of what he says and yes he does stay away from any Mormon teachings that are not in sync. with mainstream protestantism or for that matter the Catholic Church. I have listened to snippets here and there on the radio. I don't have the opportunity to listen often as he is on while I am at work.

I can read Beck much better than I can listen to him. Listening to him on radio he comes across many times as insincere. Some of his antics are downright childish on radio. What I have seen on t.v. is much more mature and I might be able to bear that.

While I do agree with most of what he says he does seem at times to get carried away with sensationalism.

Glad to see you in here again.

God bless,
Dwight

I really should have taken more interest in HB's teachings on Genesis but as I said in an earlier post it's not a book that I could stir up much interest in. My bad I know.

Speaking of Joseph, John Hagee did a series on him called "From The Pit To The Palace." Very interesting.

HB: Sometime when you get time would you do a study of Psalm 91....my very favorite Psalm. I have a framed picture of it over my computer...beautiful blue background with a white dove with wings extended on one side and the words of the Psalm in white on the other. Don't know what it is about it but it really moves me. Maybe it's the assurance of his abiding love and care. No hurry. I know you are busy and have other studies you're working on.

Dori: I don't know where everyone's gone either. Like you said...other interests maybe. Im surprised Gerry doesn't post here because I know he loves Bible studies. Maybe HB's teachings are over his head or maybe he's so entrenched in what his own pastor says that he can't see anything else. Did Murray ever post here? I wish Bilbo would post again...he's got such a unique way of putting things.

Nice to see you here, sweetie. I wasn't trying to lay a guilt trip on anyone and I'm glad you came on your own. It makes it a little nicer for HB if he's got another warm body in here to teach. Thanks for continuing with us. Smoooch!

So glad you're still lurking, sweet friend, but sorry to read of the continuing pain. That just breaks my heart. Meat man's job situation sounds grim, but he sure gets plenty of hours at least, poor guy. I'm glad you're still getting work, too, but I have a feeling you're gritting your teeth in pain the whole time. Can you get some pain meds to get you through???
Please try to get some help. I keep you always in my prayers. xoxo

The old saying is "No pain, no gain". Personally I can do without the gain if the pain is too much. I've got another year and I can retire like that old lady, uh, uh, what's her name? Oh yeah, Dori. (Just kidding about the old lady part ;-) She knows how to make a man jealous.

Thanks for stopping by. Good to see you in here again.

So sorry to hear you've been suffering a lot of pain. Didn't know about it. Hope something can be done to relieve it. Why do good people always seem to be the ones who suffer?

Meat man is also part time :-) He and I do between 70 and 80 hours a week each. We have both been offered raises and said No. Much words for explaining so maybe later.

The pain is welcomed by one such as I, no matter how much it sucks. Like my daddy, no retirement till death...just the way we are. Besides, I just got off a 2 1/4 year vacation :-)
