In reply to: Hillbilly 's message, "Dan Chap 10 vss 8-11 Post 54" on 20:23:54 01/03/11 Mon

But won't that be quite a day of reckoning, Dwight? Facing the music for our sins, but then being welcomed into His loving embrace. THAT is how I envision Heaven.

The judgment seat of Christ and not the White Throne Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15)is where we will be judged according to our works. It will not be a judgment to determine whether we enter into heaven but will be a judgment of our works since salvation and will be a judgment of reward and or loss.

1 Peter 1:16-19 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Notice the redemption is in the past tense (were redeemed). We are not looking for redemption but "crowns".

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Thank God for the blood of Jesus that has cleansed us and made us acceptable in the sight of God. We may lose reward but we cannot lose our salvation.

Every work can be burned and the child of God is still a child of God.
