Isaac and Rebekah must have failed Esau.
Jacob and Rachael must have failed at least half of their children.
The prodigal's dad amd mom must have failed him.

Dori. I don't know how you reared your children. What I do know though is that if you did your best you still have no guarantee they will be what you want them to be spiritually, morally or in any other area you might judge them and yourself on.

When children reach a certain age they are going to do their own thing just like we did. :)

You can play the blame game if you want but what I do is play the "prayer game". I never quit praying for those in my family that have more or less left the faith.

I also know that when our children, as young adults, head off to college or university they will change greatly. Depending on the university they may be brainwashed completely or in good schools for the most part may be untouched spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

The professors they come under are so much smarter and so much better educated than mom and dad that they are convinced of their own folly for ever listening to mom and dad anyway. When you throw in the attraction from the opposite sex you have finished the makeover (If it is a liberal school).

I don't know if any of this fits your situation but if it does why would you blame yourself?

I do blame a fairly liberal college education for changing my youngest, who used to be the most devout. I will take your advice and just keep praying. God bless you for your mentoring, my friend.
