Special gifts are not always recognized by the one who has the gift. Too often when thinking of gifts we think of things such as a singing voice, healing, tongues or the ability to stand forth and proclaim God's word in a special and dynamic way.
Please read the following carefully: 1 Corinthians 12:12-24 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
Notice how Paul speaks of specific body parts and he does so allegorically. The chapter is dealing with gifts. Each part of the body has a specific purpose as God designed it. How many times have you thought of the importance of your inner ear? Do you know that if it goes awry you can't even stand up. You will be so dizzy and sick that your whole body will be incapacitated. The gift of the inner ear is balance. Many people give balance in an otherwise crazy drunken world. They have a knack to focus on the sane and moral. It is a gift. Dear lady do you know how many people you have kept aware of the need to uphold Israel? Your concern and compassion for the people and state of Israel is a gift. It is an important gift. God uses people in ways such as this to keep His will in focus to people who otherwise wouldn't even be aware of God's will for these people.
How many times have you brought beauty to peoples lives by the pps slide shows that you have sent all over the country. Many of these have been with the message of love and compassion. You sent one recently on little babies and hearts were touched as yours was or you would not have sent it. Love and compassion are gifts from God and are gifts that are sadly lacking in much of the world.
You have a good grasp of scriptures and you share your knowledge with others. That is a gift. You may not stand in an auditorium and proclaim God's Word but you share as occasion and burden spurs you to write or speak. This is a gift from God.
Connie. Don't ever look at others and desire what God has given to them. Contemplate how you affect others in your daily life. Do you bring warmth and love to them. Do you comfort others in their troubles, trials and sorrows? Having an available shoulder to cry on is a gift from God. Many are cold and indifferent to the sufferings of others and couldn't care less of their problems.
In God's army and the spiritual warfare we are called upon to fight always remember this. Very few soldiers are on the front lines. For every one on the battle front their are dozens that are supporting the warrior in the heat of battle. Think of the people who manufacture their gear. Think of the old saying: "For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of the horse the rider was lost. For want of the rider the battle was lost and for want of the battle the war was lost." One horse shoe doesn't seem important but what if that horse is carrying the General.
You need not worry about the visibility of your gifts. Rest in the confidence that others see your gift even if you are not aware of it.
I'm sure we will get an amen or two from those who drop by and have been blessed by your visits here and your input from time to time.
God bless and remembe that some of us see what you evidently can't.
