Here I go again....grin! As you probably know I was raised Church of England (or Anglican), went to a Church of England Girls school the whole ball of wax. My husband was from Louisiana and his family were hard-shell Baptists. It was a whole new experience for me but I gradually adapted and finally went forward at a service and publically accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and was eventally baptised by immersion. Of course, I had been baptised as a baby and confirmed (accepted the responsibility of my Christian walk for myself and no longer dependent on godparents). Of course I have always believed in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

Anyway, my question regards CofE, Roman Catholic, and other religions. The Baptists believe if you do not make a public profession of faith and be baptized by immersion that you are not saved. Now, the above mentioned religions have different practices but the majority do believe in God and Jesus Christ so are they saved? My mother was a very devout woman and, as far as I know, she read her Bible daily. If I accept the Baptist belief she and all my family and friends are not saved. I would hate to believe that. I keep telling myself that God knows the heart of each and every one of us and who is sincere and who isn't.

Would you address this apparent conflict between different religions? Thank you!

I will work on it before posting another teaching on Dan, Gen. or the Resurrection.

I could give you a quick answer but I would rather be able to give you the references and let you read for yourself and judge what I tell you but the Book.

I will say this here and now though. All Baptists are not alike in their beliefs. There are those who do believe as you wrote and they are sincere. Sincerely wrong! I will try to bring it out in such a way that anyone can understand what I say and then make up their mind as to whether they believe what I say.

I will reply to your request over the weekend.

We not only don't have immersion baptism, but we baptize babies, too. *-)
