Daniel 7:19-23 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

As we go into this set of verses we need to remember Daniel has had a vision of 4 separate beasts. The lion with eagles wings, the bear with three ribs between it's teeth, the leopard with four wings and four heads and the "dreadful and terrible beast". This beast had ten horns among which an eleventh horn (little horn) springs up. This eleventh horn plucks up three of the original horns by the roots (destroys them completely). This will leave eight horns on the head of this beast. It is this fourth beast that really gets Daniel's attention.

This fourth beast is so compelling in it's nature and work in the vision that Daniel skips over the first three and asks the angel to reveal to him the truth of the 4th beast. We are given further detail in question Daniel asks. We are now told the teeth were of iron and the nails of the beast were brass. We are also given a glimpse of the fury and devastation caused by this beast as he devours, breaks in pieces and then not satisfied with his victory stamps the "residue" with his feet. Total annihilation of his adversaries.

From conquests of the beast Daniel proceeds to ask about this curious horn that comes up among the 10 and then destroys 3 of his companion horns. Daniel notices his mouth that is speaking "very great things" and also his physique. which is "more stout than his fellows". All of these things Daniel is given to observe in the vision are clues as to the very personage of the anti-Christ. Notice next that he makes war with the saints of God and prevails against them. We are then given to understand the time limit God places on this little horn who is destroying the saints of God. "Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom."

We have in this "thumbnail" sketch a few facts. It is the fourth kingdom. In Daniel 2 and Nebuchadnezzar's dream we are shown that it is of the clay of the seed of men and of iron which I believe is Satan's fallen that are freed upon the earth or their offspring. They will either be the horns or will be the power behind the horns which represent kings as we shall see toward the end of the chapter. It iron teeth will agree with the iron mixed with the clay of chapter two and the brass nails may point to the brass kingdom of Alexander the Great (Dan. 2:32). His mother avowed that the god Zeus and not king Philip II was the actual father of Alexander. (See Genesis 6:1-4) Alexander actually stated as much concerning his being a son of Zeus.

This fourth kingdom will consume the whole earth. It will make war against the saints and prevail and finally it will be destroyed by the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev. 19:11-21.

In verse 22 of Daniel 7 we see something else of interest. Notice the saints judge!!. Who do you suppose the saints will judge? It is an interesting question. If Jesus judges all men of every age then who are these saints going to judge. O.K. I am again going to be like Paul Harvey and tell you more than I know. 1 Corinthians 6:1-3 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

The world is fairly easy to grasp. During the Millennial Kingdom we are to rule and reign with Jesus Christ for a thousand years. (Rev. 20:4). Paul states that the saints will also judge angels. The question then would be which angels. Would it not be the ones who fell? Is it not possible that the saints will judge the "iron" that was mixed with the clay but would not cleave? (Dan. 2:43).

As I stated I cannot teach this as fact but I will say that given the scriptures and the warfare between God and Satan that has been going on since Lucifer fell (Isaiah 14:12) I am inclined to believe the unseen world has a lot more involvement in the affairs of men than we realize. Whether we want to believe it is possible or not the scriptures time and again state their is an unseen world of evil beings that do roam the earth and do rule among men.

As I write this we are all aware of the seemingly insane direction this nation and world are being taken in. Why would a world tolerate such and evil religion as Islam. Why would we allow ourselves to be so intimidated by "political correctness" that we will not speak out loudly and forcibly against this evil that is taking over. Hebrews 13:2 tells us that some have entertained angels without being aware of it. We read it and think only of the faithful angels of God. The faithful angels are ministering spirits of God (Heb. 1:14) but what of Satan. He has ministers also: 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

I can't be for sure at this point but it is more and more beginning to look to me like the 4th beast is Islamic! Islam is sure tearing up the world at this point in time!

As usual a very thoughtful and insightful look at these verses.

As I write this we are all aware of the seemingly insane direction this nation and world are being taken in. Why would a world tolerate such and evil religion as Islam. Why would we allow ourselves to be so intimidated by "political correctness" that we will not speak out loudly and forcibly against this evil that is taking over.

Good question and I believe it is because so many are blinded and mesmerized by lofty golden-tongued rhetoric; however, the bloom is coming off that rose quickly and more and more citizens are realizing what a mistake they made. I just feel in my bones that something big is about to happen in the near future that will have a big impact on all citizens of the U.S. God's people are finally speaking out and turning to him to save this nation beginning May Day.

That's what we plan to do on Saturday, May the 1st � May Day � at the Lincoln Memorial. Desperate times call for desperate prayer and we're asking that you prayerfully consider fasting from something until May the 1st when a repentant remnant will gather and remember and renew our covenant with the God in whom we trust.

If you don't agree that we are "one of the the largest Muslim nations" as Barack Obama has declared, join us as we gather not as "one nation under Allah" but as "one nation under God."

is a call of distress from someone in danger. Very appropriate to choose that day for a day of prayer for God's people to ask God to intercede in the affairs of this nation.

The prayer can be effective or it can fall on deaf ears. God will hear if we do our part. He will not hear if we aren't willing to meet His conditions. His conditions are spelled out in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

As the saying goes; "the ball is in our court."

I saw where CAIR is celebrating the Pentagon disinviting Franklin Graham as speaker at the Day of Prayer because they raised a ruckus but I haven't seen anything about the Christians raising a ruckus or if they did the Media aren't reporting it. Not a good sign.

I never thought about entertaining the wrong angels, but I know what your saying there is certainly true Hillbilly. I certainly have I know during my lifetime.

As a young Christian, we were taught quite a bit regarding praying against the forces of evil in the beginning. Then my husband began to receive a lot of understanding within the scriptures pertaining to this area, God adding to the teachings we had received. But then,the teachings by many began to focus onto getting affluent financially, instead of what we were first taught to use them for, which was praying for the lost, along with growing in the Lord in the area of righteousness. Not just on TV either, but the churches began to teach along the same lines as they were hearing this message preached TV. And today, this prosperity message, as it is called, has gone world wide, even in the poorest of nations, I hear. When the Bible says we are to take no thought of these things, but to seek the kingdom instead, for the most part. meaning the message that was about love began to be about the love of self instead. Or at least that was what it seemed to me.

Mt 24:
12: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13: But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

To me it is unbelievable what is going on in this country. I knew it would come someday of course. I just didn't think I would be alive to see it begin is all. That is if indeed that is what is beginning. And it does look like it is.

But at the same time, I cannot forget something that Corrie Ten Boom said once about what was going on in Germany. Many over in those countries believing that Hitler was the antichrist, and that they would soon be leaving all that was happening behind. Yet she said, we did not leave.

Does that mean today is not that time? NO. It just means I don't know yet. But do know we need to occupy until then sharing the gospel. Or until it is my time to leave here. Never losing that first love. Nor the second one either. But of course, if you never lose the first one, the second will also always remain to as a result of what the first one does in that ones life.

What you describe is also something I have experienced. We call this type of teaching and preaching "prosperity religion" and it cannot be found in the Bible as it is taught and preached by so many today.

It goes along these lines. "God does not want you to be poor". "He wants you to be prosperous but He wants you to prove that you trust Him". "You must claim by faith these blessings and He will give them to you." Usually this message will be coupled with the directive that you must prove God by giving and you can't out give God. Almost always you will be directed to send your hard earned to the one delivering the message. He will pray for your prosperity and for God to open His storehouse and pour out these blessings of wealth.

The above message may take on variations but essentially they will follow close to the scenario.

What amazes me in all this is how God told the rich young ruler to sell what he had and give it to the poor. Then he was to follow Jesus.

Prosperity religion is based on greed and the desires of the flesh. It is an anti biblical teaching and you know who is moving the one who is doing the preaching and it is not God.

Thank you so much for your input and like you say; we may not know when our time to leave is but the important thing is to be ready. One can be killed in a car wreck while waiting for Jesus to come back and take His Saints home. Many have been or died of disease or just old age.
