I have had some very sad news today and could use your prayers. My dear friend at work, Cecil, has been told he has cancer of the prostate (stage 4) and will be undergoing more testing Thursday to see if it has spread. This man is very spiritual and loves God, so he is already praying, too, but could you please pray for him--that they find that the cancer is contained only in the prostate and hasn't spread? Thank you so much. I'm going to post this at all the forums where good Christians gather. God bless!

Cecil has always been my rock here at work and I can't imagine him being gone. I'm not ready for that. We have lots to talk about still.

As you may, or may not know, I had prostate earlier this year and the prostate removed in March,

however it was caught in the early states, nothing was found in a bone scan or in any tissue surrounding the prostate.

Right after I found out I had the cancer and before the operation, two friends whom I grew up with died from prostate cancer, I attended both their funerals.

I don't like dying anymore than the next person, but it eventually comes to all of us, and even with the stress of not knowing the prognosis's in my case, I was willing to accept whatever God wanted.

So, I know the "stress" your friend is under not know his prognosis either,

"I've been there"

and I also know that "fervent prayers" can/do change things, actually, they have a greater "healing power" than any medicine.

I'll keep him in the forefront of my prayers and put him on our church prayer list as well.

Keep us "updated".

I had forgotten about your cancer. I'm so glad it was caught early. I'm afraid Cecil's may be too far gone. I'm so hoping that it isn't. He is such a good, kind, caring person. That may be all the more reason for God to want him in heaven, I suppose, but I will be so sad if I have to lose him.
Thanks for keeping him in your prayers and taking this to your prayer group at church. All the prayers will help, I know. He thanks you, too. I told him I was taking this to my prayer warriors. 8-)

Will most definitely be in my prayers.

The most important fact though is his love for God.

I want people to pray for me but most of all I want to be close enough to God for God to hear my prayers for my needs when I pray.

It is good to have people lifting us in prayer, but we want God to hear us directly. I am sure He hears Cecil. Thank you, my friend for your prayers.

The tests came back inconclusive. Cecil has Muscular Dystrophy and has spasms, so for him to stay perfectly still for three hours was impossible. They have started him on radiation--first with a big shot last Wednesday. They will have to do the test over, I guess. Maybe they can put him to sleep for it the next time.
Thank you, everyone, for your continued prayers. Cecil also thanks you.
