Subject: A Few thoughts on the election Author: Hillbilly [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 21:01:39 01/19/10 Tue Ever since Clinton and bunch, then Pelosi and Reid stepped on the scene and now Obama I have watched with a sense of grief and sadness as to what they were purposefully doing to our beloved country and our values. Never have I seen such a such a gathering of high handed elitists who would thumb their nose at the God of the Bible and fulfill the life of the haughty Pharisee whom Jesus rebuked so sharply: Matthew 23:4-6 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, God gave us hope and comfort in His Word as to the end of these selfrighteous bigots who pretend to be our servants. In Proverbs 16:18-19 it is written; "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud." We have seen God honor His word tonight and I truly thank Him for what has taken place in Massachusetts. I do not hold Scott Brown to be a saint. Hardly. He has warts! As long as he realizes he has warts and does not get too high minded then there is hope for him. I pray that America has awoke to the danger that is in our midst. We are close to losing it all. We are at the precipice and what we do as a people going forward will determine how all this plays out. I for one intend to pray harder, live for God daily, seek His council and work against the scoundrels in both parties. May God richly reward the efforts of all who will stand for what is right and hold Him and His Word above all. We will live humbly and righteously or we will fall!! . Then realizing no, that is what many of us,including myself, have been doing in the past. Just felt like sharing that, probably because that is how I myself felt after hearing he did win. It just evens the voting field a bit more than existed before. Which really might be a good thing no matter who is in office.

When one party gains too much power it seems the power goes to their heads and they start feeling invincible and above the law. Same for the branches of government. The Judicial checks and balances the legislative and executive. The executive checks and balances the legislative and judicial and the legislative checks and balances the executive and judicial. Without these checks and balances we would be doomed to tyranny. The greatest check and balance in our political system worked Tuesday. It is called the American voter. We have the greatest power if we will use it correctly. We need to get back to constitutional government that answers to the law and the people.

Which is often, as I see it, why we do have error in some doctrines. Most do not look at both sides of the issue, finding the balance God meant for us to see in the first place. But read something in scripture, getting totally unbalanced about it after that. In fact, I believe the Lord told me this is how the devil does cause us to be in error quite often to begin with. Kind of like telling someone a bit of truth, along with a bit of a lie, so to speak. Causing that one not to see the whole matter ultimately. Also need to watch closely what one is doing and saying too, before voting for them. And a bit of prayer always helps too. I have thought about switching from what I have always referred to myself as being, which is republican, to being independent. But then you cannot vote in the primaries when you do this. So have decided not to do so for that reason. But just to vote independently instead. LOL I received this today for anyone that is interested in this issue. As I am. Not that I want to take away anything from anybody. But neither do I believe in inviting the breaking of the laws of our country either. As they are there for a purpose I believe.
