The next beast Daniel sees in his vision is a leopard. This leopard, as the lion was, is a winged creature. The description is thus: "After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it." (Daniel 7:6 ) The pre-Christian era interpretation would fall to Rome. Again, although the leopard best represents Greece in my thinking, the order dictates that it must refer to Rome. As to what or who the four heads and wings represent, I don't have a clue. If the vision of Daniel show the progression of nations up to Christ and then the anti-Christ kingdom we must assume Media/Persia, Greece, Rome and then the anti-Christ. Media/Persia, Greece and then Rome was the progression in history after the fall of Babylon. It should be understood also from the Biblical view we are looking at nations that conquered reigned over the middles east and specifically the Holy Land. This is why in the Christian era we look past Empires such as Spain. They may have been world travelers and conquerors but they didn't conquer and place under their rule the Holy Land.

As to the Christian era interpretation I believe we must look to a future fulfillment. The animal is a leopard but it has four heads. In the Book of Revelation we find that the seven heads on the beast represent seven kings and "mountains" (Rev. 17:9-10) which may be a reference to kingdoms. If this is a rule in these visions then we may safely assume that this leopard is made up of an alliance of four. Given the nature of warfare today and it's almost total reliance on air power it is possible the wings represent their military. All of this is speculation of course. I don't think anyone has as yet nailed all this down with any degree of certainty. I do believe that we must look to the players in the middle east today to see who the possibilities are. We must assume that the first two beasts, the lion with eagle's wings and the bear have faded in influence and power in the middle east at this time. The rising threat seems to be in Islam more than any other sector.. One possibility that needs to be given attention is that of a revived Babylon. The very first kingdom on this earth was Babel (Babylon) and it's most noted ruler was Nimrod. In the ancient languages there were no vowels and they were supplied according to the context of the words. I have read the consonants for Nimrod were NMR. An interesting thing about this is that it also is the lettering for Nimr which is a leopard. Nimrod wore a leopard skin and as a "mighty hunter before the Lord" (Gen. 10:9) was the first type of anti-Christ as he stood against the Lord. For an interesting exercise type in "Nimrod Nimur" in a search engine such as google or alltheweb then remove Nimrod from the search string andleave Nimur. Notice how many times the Nimur will be connected with Iraq.

The Bible is clear there will be a Babylon during the tribulation. It is called "mystery, Babylon the Great" but the connection to ancient Babylon is unmistakable. Many believe that Babylon proper will be rebuilt. The defeat and subsequent rebuilding of Iraq, especially with it's U.S. trained and equipped military, would be a formidable foe in the middles east if it was to once again flex it's muscle. This would of necessity be after the U.S. forces leave which could be very soon. Given our current political situation I can see where the Russian bear flexes it's muscles followed by an Iraqi resurgence as Babylon. Should this occur the vision of Daniel would be fulfilled and set the stage for the "dreadful and terrible" beast that will follow the leopard and set the stage for the 2nd Advent of Jesus Christ. Babylon the Great would morph into the great harlot which would rule the world by the power of Satan through the anti-Christ.

And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

Daniel 7:5

The bear can help to perhaps show us the viciousness of Satan.

RIBS --Eve came from Adam's rib.

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father
and his mother, and shall cleave
unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh
Genesis 2

Ribs identify with the bride of Christ.

"Three" usually represents purpose, right HB ?

Since Adam and Eve ... satan has been trying to deceive
devour and destroy us - the bride and body of Christ.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Genesis 2

So much to think about .

I thank God there is an end coming to satan .

Thanks for sharing , HB.

May God continue to richly
bless you and all your loved
ones ,

The number three in scripture points to the Godhead and divine fullness.

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost

In God's creation we see God's hand in the fact that the number 3 is stamped on everything.

Take the sun for instance. It is a type of God or better Jesus Christ. The sun produces three types of rays. (1) Visible light rays that can be seen and felt as it lightens the day and warms you and everyting it touches. Type of Jesus (2)Rays that can be felt but not seen or ultra violet rays. They are invisible but they warm what they touch. Type of the Holy Spirit (3)actinic rays that cannot be seen nor felt Type of the Father in Heaven Never seen and only felt through Spirit

God created man in His image. Body, Soul and Spirit (1Ths. 5:23)

There are three heavens Atmosphere, Outer Space, 3rd Heaven (2 Cor. 12:2) or abode of God

God created all color. There are only three primary colors that all colors are derived from. Red, Yellow and Blue. By mixing these three you get all the rest.

The water you drink is H2O 2 atoms of hydrogen 1 of oxygen.

The earth is land, sea and air.

You have to have length, width and depth to have a physical entity.

God's attributes are Omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence.

Time is past, present and future

Human capability is limited to thought, word and deed.

The three main classes in God's creation is mineral, vegetable and animal

There were three feasts unto the Lord that Israel was to keep (Deut. 16:16) which mark the three divisions of the resurrection of the saved. Firstfruits, harvest and gleanings.

These are but a few examples of how the number three points to the Triune nature of God and His creation.

As to 3 and purpose or God's purpose. I would say yes since every thing God touches get's marked in some way by the number 3.
